Have you seen our little Rhythm affirmation cards?

They are filled with some of our instructors’ favourite quotes and affirmations.

Next time you’re in, have a look and grab one that speaks to you. Take it home as a little reminder, pop it somewhere you’ll see it, or pass it on to someone who might need it too. ✨

We have been getting lots of questions lately about whether you can claim Pilates through your private health fund, so we thought we’d clear things up.

Back in 2019, the Australian Government removed rebates for more than 16 natural therapies, including Pilates. More recently, the rules changed again, allowing health funds to choose whether to include Pilates in eligible benefits.

What does that mean for you?

Many health funds already offer rebates for Pilates through Health Management or Healthy Lifestyle programs. These programs are designed to support people managing specific health conditions such as injury rehabilitation, chronic pain, osteoporosis, weight management and mental health.

Eligibility varies between health funds, but it will often require:

- Eligible extras cover
- A referral or Health Management form completed by your GP or allied health provider

We commonly see clients successfully access these benefits through funds such as ahm, Medibank, and several smaller health funds.

There are also more changes on the horizon. Some health funds are expected to introduce rebates for Pilates under General Treatment benefits when services are delivered to help manage a health condition.

At Rhythm Wellness, we already offer semi-private Clinical Pilates delivered by our physiotherapists and exercise physiologists, which is claimable through eligible private health funds.

We know you pay a lot for your private health insurance and want to make the most of it. Along with eligible Clinical Pilates, you may also be able to claim for:

- Physiotherapy
- Exercise Physiology consultations
- Remedial Massage
- Myotherapy
- Dietetics

Reach out with any questions. 💕

The last little bit of winter is still hanging around, and those cold mornings can make getting out of bed feel a little harder.

But spring and summer will be here before we know it, and now is the perfect time to start building your morning routine.

Get up, get your movement in, enjoy some morning sunshine and start your day feeling energised and grounded.

We have early classes most days from 5:30am, with Reformer Pilates, Yoga, Strength to help you find a routine that works for you.

Start now, so when the warmer mornings arrive, the habit is already there. ☀️

Our social media has been a little quiet lately.
Partly because I was sick. Partly because, I’ve been a little over social media.

As the millennial I am, social media has looked very different throughout my life.I remember a time before smartphones and social media (which sounds pretty nice sometimes). Then came MySpace, where the biggest decision was what song played on your profile and what wallpaper to choose. At uni it was Facebook, where we’d upload hundreds of blurry photos from road trips, random Tuesday nights and adventures with friends.

Now social media feels completely different.

There is so much access to education, inspiration and entertainment (seriously... why is watching someone frost a cake so satisfying?). But there is also more noise than ever before. Between influencers, AI-generated content and endless opinions, it can feel exhausting trying to work out what’s real, what’s helpful and what’s just another trend.

It also feels like we’ve never been more connected online, yet sometimes less connected in real life.

One of the things we don’t talk about enough when it comes to yoga, Pilates and strength classes isn’t just the physical or mental benefits, it’s the community.

My favourite part of Rhythm has never been classes or therapies we offer.

It’s watching people become friends.

It’s seeing clients stay after class for a cup of tea and a chat.

It’s instructors genuinely knowing what’s happening in people’s lives.

It’s celebrating wins together, supporting each other through tough times, and creating a space where people feel like they belong.

That kind of connection is becoming increasingly rare, and I think it’s something we all need a little more of.

So, after my long-winded explanation for disappearing from social media... if you’ve been craving genuine connection, we would love to welcome you into our community.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your health isn’t another wellness trend.

Sometimes it’s simply finding people you’re happy to move, laugh and share a cup of tea with.

Your body adapts to the positions and movements you repeat every day. Whether you’re sitting at a desk, working on the tools, nursing your baby, etc.. repeated demands shape the way your body moves.

The good news? Your body can adapt in the other direction too.

By consistently exposing your body to a variety of movement patterns and progressively challenging your range of motion, you can improve how you move, reduce stiffness and build strength through your full range.

If you’re ready to start moving with more ease, join our 4-Week Mobility Course with Kirra, our Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

Over four weeks you’ll learn why your body feels stiff, follow a progressive mobility program, and leave with practical exercises you can continue.

It begins next Tuesday, 4 August (only 3 spots left). Link to book in comments or feel free to reach out with any questions.
