HOT weather is often a time when both you and baby are feeling "hot and sticky"! ABA have good ideas for keeping you both cool to enjoy breastfeeds...Caro βοΈ
π Breastfeeding during the summer holiday period - this week will share some posts answering common questions about breastfeeding over the summer holidays and Christmas period.
π‘οΈ How can we stay comfortable breastfeeding in hot weather?
Lots of mums find that breastfeeding feels a bit stickier and more tiring at this time of year. Some babies also fuss more in the heat or come on and off the breast more quickly.
Here are some things that might be helpful:
π
If being chest-to-chest feels too warm, placing a light muslin wrap, pillowcase or cloth nappy between you and your baby can make a surprising difference.
βοΈA cool, damp face washer in the crook of your arm can help keep both of you comfortable during feeds. Some babies like to be sponged or sprayed with lukewarm water as well.
π€±Feeding lying down often means less body contact, which can feel cooler.
π§ And for you, keeping a bottle of water nearby can make it easier to drink to thirst throughout the day.
