Opened in 2016 and led by Clinical Director Dr Peta Skilbeck, Intuition provides expert pregnancy, gynaecology, fertility, advanced women’s imaging, fetal medicine, paediatrics and ultrasound services in a warm, supportive environment. This page is managed 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

We’re heading to the Central Coast Pregnancy, Birth & Parenting Expo 🤍

Come and meet some of the friendly faces behind Intuition on Sunday 11 October 2026 at The Gallery, Gosford RSL Club, from 10am to 2pm.

Joining us on the day will be:

🤍 Karyn from our Patient Support Team, ready to answer your questions about pregnancy and paediatric care at Intuition.
🤍 Caitlin from Blossom Midwifery, who’ll be chatting about our At Home Midwife offering and the additional support available to our obstetric patients before and after birth.
🤍 And the highly esteemed, and equally super friendly, Specialist Paediatrician and Neonatologist Dr Ahmed Khan, who’ll be there to talk all things babies and children.

When it comes to alcohol during pregnancy, the safest amount is none. 🤍

There is no known safe level of alcohol consumption during pregnancy, and no stage of pregnancy when drinking alcohol is considered safe.

Alcohol crosses the placenta and can affect a developing baby’s brain, body and organs, which is why Australian health guidelines recommend that women who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy do not drink alcohol at all.

And if you drank alcohol before you knew you were pregnant, try not to panic. Stop drinking once you know and speak openly with your GP, midwife or obstetrician if you have any concerns.

Did you know we bulk bill dating scans at Intuition? 🤍

A dating scan is an exciting milestone, but timing matters.

Our policy is to perform dating scans once you are beyond eight weeks of pregnancy. Before this stage, confirming a heartbeat is not always reliable, which can sometimes lead to unnecessary anxiety and distress for expecting parents.

Every scan at Intuition is performed with the oversight of Fetal Medicine Specialist Dr Rajit Narayan, giving you confidence that you and your baby are receiving the highest standard of care.

Dating scans are available every Monday and Thursday, with bulk billing available for eligible patients who have a referral from their General Practitioner and a valid Medicare card.

Because when it comes to early pregnancy, reassurance starts with the right care at the right time. 💛

More than 10 years of care, leading to this moment. 🤍

When Holly first came to Dr Peta Skilbeck, she was a teenager who had spent years experiencing severe pain, bloating and difficult periods without feeling like she was being heard.

Dr Skilbeck listened.

Over the decade that followed, she supported Holly through a diagnosis of endometriosis and PCOS, recurring symptoms, pelvic floor physiotherapy, fertility investigations, a HyCoSy and eventually the process of choosing an IVF clinic.

Then, in a wonderful turn of events, Holly and Christopher conceived their beautiful baby naturally.

There was never really a question about who Holly wanted beside her throughout her pregnancy. This is what continuity of care can look like.

From a teenager searching for answers, through gynaecological care, fertility challenges and pregnancy, all the way to finally placing that long awaited baby in her arms.

To those who are breastfeeding, we see you. 💛

Feeding, expressing, sleepless nights and nourishing another little human with your own body is an extraordinary commitment. It is often described as a part-time job, and for good reason. Producing breast milk requires hundreds of calories each day, making it an incredible feat of both love and biology.

However you feed your baby, know that you are doing an amazing job. Happy World Breastfeeding Week. 🤍

A hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive, 30-minute procedure that allows your gynaecologist to look inside your uterus, using a small camera called a hysteroscope.

It can help diagnose and, in many cases, treat conditions affecting the uterus, including:

✨ Abnormal or heavy bleeding
✨ Uterine polyps
✨ Fibroids
✨ Scar tissue (adhesions)
✨ Fertility concerns
✨ Thickening of the uterine lining

Unlike many imaging tests, a hysteroscopy allows your doctor to see the inside of the uterus in real time and, where appropriate, perform treatment during the same procedure, while you’re under a general anesthetic.

If you’ve been experiencing heavy or irregular bleeding or unexplained pelvic symptoms, a hysteroscopy may provide the answers you’ve been looking for.
