Another Monday is rolling around… it’s another “I’ll start Monday” but deep down you know you’re kidding yourself. You don’t actually think you will.
You’ll find a new excuse, which is different from last week and the week before that.
You’ll still wake up the same. Stepping on the scales. Feeling disappointed. Looking in the mirror…. Actually, avoiding the mirror. You don’t want to see what you’ve become. It’s “easier” to stay ignorant.
You go to put on your jeans and realise they don’t fit the same as last year. And put on your comfy baggies instead.
You walk into the kitchen and snap at the kids… just for being kids…. Because you feel crap about yourself.
You make their breakfast and lunches, nibble on a bit of crusts and make your coffee to get through the morning.
It reaches 3pm… and you haven’t eaten yet. You’ve had a few too many more coffees, can’t remember the last time you had a glass of water, and now you reach for whatever you can find. Chocolate. Chips. Biscuits. Cheese. Wine. Soft drink.
You feel gross and bloated so barely eat dinner that you cooked for everyone else, and then collapse on the lounge in a heap. Hating on yourself, avoiding intimacy with your partner and knowing it’ll be same s**t - different day, all over again tomorrow.
You feel completely alone. You don’t know how to get out of this funk but you know you want to. And the longer it goes on, the angrier you become because you don’t know why the F you can’t do it.
