that I would be happy. But what I really needed wasn’t another plan, or another box to tick, it was a new way of being. Another Monday is rolling around… it’s another “I’ll start Monday” but deep down you know you’re kidding yourself. You don’t actually think you will.

You’ll find a new excuse, which is different from last week and the week before that.

You’ll still wake up the same. Stepping on the scales. Feeling disappointed. Looking in the mirror…. Actually, avoiding the mirror. You don’t want to see what you’ve become. It’s “easier” to stay ignorant.

You go to put on your jeans and realise they don’t fit the same as last year. And put on your comfy baggies instead.

You walk into the kitchen and snap at the kids… just for being kids…. Because you feel crap about yourself.

You make their breakfast and lunches, nibble on a bit of crusts and make your coffee to get through the morning.

It reaches 3pm… and you haven’t eaten yet. You’ve had a few too many more coffees, can’t remember the last time you had a glass of water, and now you reach for whatever you can find. Chocolate. Chips. Biscuits. Cheese. Wine. Soft drink.

You feel gross and bloated so barely eat dinner that you cooked for everyone else, and then collapse on the lounge in a heap. Hating on yourself, avoiding intimacy with your partner and knowing it’ll be same s**t - different day, all over again tomorrow.

You feel completely alone. You don’t know how to get out of this funk but you know you want to. And the longer it goes on, the angrier you become because you don’t know why the F you can’t do it.

9 weeks ago, my client could barely get off the couch. And she certainly didn’t want to. Her husband and kids would ask to do something, and she’d say no without even thinking. She couldn’t. It was too hard. Too many aches. Not enough fitness.

Now she’s walking 50 minutes for FUN, walking around the park with her husband, chopping down trees and carrying branches for the dump, and PARTICIPATING in life. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Imagine thinking you were the “fat friend” your entire life. That you’ll give up anyway. That it won’t work. That being fat is your entire identity.

That you can’t make friends, you don’t have close relationships, you can’t experience connection but you crave it so damn much.

You just want to feel good in yourself and breathe a bit easier instead of the pressure of perfection and constant failing noise.

You want to eat food you enjoy but also be a healthy weight.

You want to be able to have conversations with your partner and family without it blowing up into a *thing*.

My client is becoming HER. The version she’s always craved but never thought was possible.

Her relationships are better than ever because she’s happier.

We’re learning communication techniques and understanding human behaviour on another level which is making her relationships become deeper and healthier.

First day of winter ❄️ and I thought it was the perfect time to share some of the beauties of the gym again!

It’s hard. The noise. Telling you it’s cold, it’s dark, you’re tired. Telling you you’ll try again tomorrow, or next week. Telling you to cancel and doing everything you can to justify it to yourself.

And then for the rest of the day you’ve got that niggling feeling that you were slack, hopeless, and ashamed. You feel guilty and disappointed in yourself. And that’s hard too.

Do the thing your future self will be proud of.

Why exercise? Because you want to participate in life. You want to feel good. You want to be strong and confident and capable. You want to feel amazing in your clothes. You want to get in photos with your kids. Gosh, you want to keep up with your kids and play! You want to be intimate with your partner. You want to look in the mirror and like what you see. You want to stop basing your worth on the number on the scales. The healthy body and woman just becomes YOU.

Energy creates energy. And lack of movement builds as stagnation. And stagnation does not feel good.
