💉 5 Reasons to Get Your Flu Vaccine This Winter ❄️

1️⃣ Protect yourself
The flu isn’t just a bad cold—it can lead to serious illness. The vaccine helps reduce your risk of getting sick.

2️⃣ Protect others
Getting vaccinated helps shield vulnerable people around you, including babies, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.

3️⃣ Reduce severity
Even if you do catch the flu, the vaccine can make your symptoms milder and help you recover faster.

4️⃣ Avoid time off work (and life!)
Flu can knock you out for days. Vaccination helps keep you healthy and on track.

5️⃣ Help ease pressure on healthcare systems
Fewer flu cases mean more capacity for hospitals to care for those who need it most.

✅ It’s quick, safe, and updated each year to match circulating strains.

👉 Don’t wait—book your flu shot today and stay well this winter!

💙 National Volunteers Week 2026 💙

This week, we proudly celebrated and thanked the incredible Volunteers who help make Heathcote Health and our wider community such a caring and connected place.

Our Volunteers were presented with Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of the generosity, kindness and time they so willingly give to support others. From lending a helping hand to providing companionship, transport, community connection and support — your contribution truly makes a difference every single day.

Thank you to all Volunteers, near and far, for everything you do for our community. 🌿

We were delighted to celebrate alongside our friends from Royal Flying Doctor Service Victoria Community Transport Heathcote and Heathcote Men's Shed with a community BBQ filled with laughter, stories and appreciation.

A special thank you to CWA Heathcote Night for the delicious sweet treats, and to Annabelle Cleeland MP for dropping by to recognise the amazing work our Volunteers do across the Heathcote & District community.

Your compassion, generosity and community spirit embody the very best of what it means to care for one another. Thank you for helping us deliver BEST CARE. 💚

🌅Lest We Forget – ANZAC Day 2026🌅

Today, on ANZAC Day, we pause to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of all Australian and New Zealand men and women who have served our nations in times of war, conflict, and peacekeeping.

We reflect on the enduring spirit of the ANZACs — bravery, mateship, resilience, and selflessness — values that continue to shape who we are today.

We also take a moment to acknowledge the animals who served alongside them — the horses, donkeys, dogs, pigeons, and many others who carried, protected, and supported troops, often in the most difficult conditions. Their loyalty and contribution will never be forgotten.

Today, we extend our gratitude beyond our shores, recognising the service and sacrifice of our allies — standing together in times of conflict, united by shared values of courage, peace, and humanity.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
