We had two very special visitors last Friday.

Jackie Kelly, our CEO, brought ANZAC and Buddy to meet everyone.

The Heathcote RSL Sub Branch Inc - VIC joined us, and we look forward to working alongside them in the coming months.

Members of the Heathcote Craft Group, who have been making poppies for our 💜Purple Poppy Project💜, also joined us.

If you would like to make poppies for the 💜Purple Poppy Project💜, feel free to pick up a pattern from Heathcote Health reception and drop them back to us there when you are finished.

RSL members visit aged care residents with special guests Buddy and ANZAC ahead of upcoming RSL commemorations.

What a great day to launch our parkrun around the beautiful McIvor Creek Trail
Aunty Jo, Taungurung Elder, welcomed us to Country and performed a Smoking Ceremony.

This week's Chef's Special: Meatball & Coleslaw Sliders, with Potato Cakes and Beef & Mushroom Croquettes on the side — all made fresh today in our own kitchen, right down to the herbs from our kitchen garden! 🌿

Who else is looking forward to Fridays? 😋 Our residents have asked for it and we have delivered (no heated bags or GPS tracking required though😉)

Heathcote Health is a proud partner of the Maggie Beer Foundation Trainer Mentor Program, helping our kitchen team keep cooking up delicious, nutritious meals for our residents, patients and clients every single day.

🖤💛❤️ Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026 – 50 Years of Deadly! 🖤💛❤️

What a morning! Heathcote Health, together with the Heathcote Reconciliation Group, was proud to host our community for a NAIDOC Week morning tea on Tuesday 7 July at Barrack Reserve Stadium.

Heathcote Health CEO Jackie Kelly welcomed everyone and opened proceedings with an acknowledgement of the Taungurung people, traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we gathered, and our connection to Dja Dja Wurrung and all lands of the Kulin Nation.

Katie Christensen addressed attendees on behalf of the 2026 Bendigo NAIDOC Week Committee.

🎉We were also proud to officially launch our Heathcote Health Reconciliation Action Plan🎉

Many of our Heathcote Health staff wore our new First Nations polo shirts, with original design created by Aunty Jo Honeysett (Taungurung Elder)

A huge thank you to everyone who made the morning so special:
🤎 Our Heathcote community, for joining us in such great numbers
🤎 The Bendigo NAIDOC Week Committee, including Katie Christensen who spoke on behalf of the Committee
🤎 Representatives from the Bendigo & District Aboriginal Cooperative
🤎 The incredible Rhaedel Pickett, who performed classic songs and original music
🤎 The Heathcote Reconciliation Group, led by Fi Machin, Reconciliation (Inclusive Communities) Officer
🤎 City of Greater Bendigo, including Mayor Thomas Prince, CEO Andrew Cooney, Nikki Williams and CoGB staff
🤎 Ironstone Park Nursery (Heathcote), whose generous donation gifted every attendee a mix of rare/endangered and native plants
🤎 Hoo-gah in Bendigo, who supplied a delicious morning tea, made possible through the generosity of the Inclusive Communities Office
🤎 Our own Heathcote Health kitchen team, for their wonderful support on the day

The morning was filled with yarning, old friends reconnecting and new friendships forming, beautiful artwork on display, and the chance to reflect together on 50 Years of Deadly.
