Congratulations Aaden! 🏊‍♂️👏

Last month, MPG-sponsored athlete Aaden competed at the Australian Age Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast, returning home with a silver medal in the 14 Years 100m Freestyle, three event finals and top-20 finishes in six events.

Over the last five years, our Sports Physiotherapist, Jason, has worked alongside Aaden, helping him understand injury prevention and how best to support his growing body as he developed as an athlete.

We are so proud of Aaden’s achievements, dedication and the way he embraced this fantastic opportunity.

Well done, Aaden!! 🙌

Stiff, sore knees? 🦵

Especially as we head into winter, colder weather can make joint stiffness and discomfort more noticeable - particularly if you have osteoarthritis or a previous injury.

The good news? There are simple ways to help manage it:
✔ Keep joints warm and gently moving
✔ Gentle strengthening exercises
✔ Low-impact activity (like walking or cycling)
✔ Targeted physio or exercise therapy

For longer-term support, our GLA:D® Hip and Knee Program may help ✨ This evidence-based program helps reduce symptoms of hip and knee osteoarthritis through education and supervised exercise to reduce pain, improve function and build confidence in movement.

AND! The GLA:D® Hip and Knee Program is fully funded for HBF members with Silver Plus cover and above.

Injury prevention for female athletes deserves a tailored approach 💙

This insightful article from the Australian Physiotherapy Association highlights how targeted, evidence-based strategies like strength and neuromuscular training can reduce injury risk and help women and girls stay strong, active and injury-free.

Well worth the read for anyone involved in women’s sport 👇

Dr Brooke Patterson, Melissa Haberfield and Professor Kay Crossley of the APA Sports and Exercise national group present five discussion points about the role that physiotherapists can play in delivering best practice injury prevention interventions for female, woman and girl athletes.

Not all of us… just Jason! 😅

He’s swapped client consults for French views (and we’re not jealous at all 😉)

We love seeing Jason enjoy a change of scenery and a well-earned break with his wife, Wendy ❤️ 🥐🍷
