Highlights from our Social Squad program!
This is a 5 day program run over the school holidays where children aged 8-11 are supported to practice social communication skills such as:
- sharing ideas and listening to others
- planning and making decisions together
- problem solving
- flexible thinking and adapting ideas
- communicating with peers in small groups

This neuroaffirming group is facilitated by a speech pathologist and children are thoughtfully matched into small groups based on age, interests and communication goals.

This complimentary program could not have been made possible without the support from Regional Development Australia.

We can’t wait to bring Social Squad back in the next school holidays! We are now accepting expressions of interest for Term 3 holidays, which will be happening from the 5th-9th October.
Contact us via phone or at [email protected] if you would like to add your child on the waitlist for this (free!) 5 day program.

🧠 WEEKLY PD at PTS

Another great week of learning for our Allied Health team!

This week our team came together for our regular in-house professional development session — sharing knowledge, working through de-identified case studies, and keeping up with the latest evidence-based practice. ☕

These weekly sessions are one of our favourite parts of the week. They keep us sharp, spark great conversations, and ultimately help us deliver the best possible care to the people we support. 🙌

Grateful for a team that always shows up ready to learn and grow together.

✨Meet Liv!✨

Hi there! I’m Liv, a physiotherapy student originally from Victoria. I recently made the move to Perth to start studying Physio. When I’m not studying, you’ll usually find me outdoors, exploring new places, and making the most of everything WA has to offer!

Helping others has always been my biggest passion, so I’m so excited to a part of the team at Pilbara Therapy Services and to have the opportunity to support people on their own health and wellbeing journeys. I can’t wait to start discovering North WA for the first time and meeting the local community!

We're excited to have Liv with us at PTS!

And we dont want to brag... but we will! We have some champions amongst us!!
- Kate, sarah & josh taking out first place in their category
- Dave, Emma S, Marni and (rob) taking out second place in their category
- Siarn taking out fastest lap for the social loop
- Aimee getting her PB
- Kate finally winning at pressuring Hayley to participate
- Olivia (current student) volunteering for first aid

A big thanks to our support crew, nanna's, husbands/partners , friends that supported looking after kids, or bringing snacks, supplying bike lights! Community effort!

First Nations people seeking NDIS help can now call a new phone line, established to provide a more culturally respectful, tailored experience with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

The new service forms part of the Agency’s broader commitment to supporting national priorities including Closing the Gap and the recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission.

For FPDN, this dedicated line is an important step towards breaking down systemic barriers and communication gaps for First Nations people. This initiative supports FPDN’s mission of ensuring mob with disability receive the respect and trust to navigate the system effectively.
