❤️ Wow, what can we say other than the Beagle community is AMAZING! ❤️

We have been absolutely inundated with offers of help for Benny, not just from Victoria, but from Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide, Canberra and even Darwin!

As a result, we are now closing applications for Benny and will begin the process of screening applicants to find the best possible match for this special little boy.

While Benny’s story has captured so many hearts, we have plenty of other special cases waiting patiently behind the scenes who are just as deserving of incredible foster carers and adoptive homes. Over the coming weeks, we’ll start introducing some of them in the hope that they too get the opportunity that little Benny has been given.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your kindness, generosity and willingness to open your homes to animals in need never ceases to amaze us.

The Beagles and other Scent Hounds are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing community standing behind them. ❤️

🐾 URGENT FOSTER CARER NEEDED – BENNY 🐾
We are desperately seeking a foster carer for little Benny, a 5-month-old Beagle puppy, who needs somewhere safe to land from tomorrow.
Despite being just a baby, Benny has already been through four different homes through absolutely no fault of his own. He deserves stability, patience, and a family willing to help him settle and simply be a puppy.
Benny is a happy, social young Beagle who:
🐶 Loves other dogs🐶 Has been around children🐶 Is crate trained🐶 Enjoys companionship and being part of the family🐶 Is looking for a home with a secure backyard where he can safely play and explore
Due to his age, breed, and recent upheaval, we are looking for someone with Beagle experience who understands the breed's unique traits, including their intelligence, curiosity, and need for supervision and enrichment.
Benny doesn't need perfection. He just needs someone willing to open their home and help him decompress, learn, and feel secure while we work towards finding his forever family.
All rescue support, veterinary care, and ongoing guidance will be provided.
If you have been thinking about fostering and have room in your home and heart for this little guy, we would love to hear from you urgently.
📍 VIC Foster home required from tomorrow.📩 Please send us a message if you can help or share this post to help Benny find the foster home he so desperately needs.
Let's make sure home number five is the one where Benny finally feels safe. ❤️🐾

SECOND CHANCE SUNDAY

Proprioception is one of the most important senses you’ve probably never been taught about.
It’s the 'body awareness' system that helps a child know where their body is in space, how much force to use, and how to move smoothly and safely.

When it’s not working smoothly, children can look clumsy, crash into things, press too hard, avoid certain movements, or constantly seek deep pressure (tight hugs, squeezing, heavy work).

This isn’t laziness or attention-seeking.
It’s their nervous system asking for information.

Save this post for the next time a child is climbing, crashing, leaning, or “too rough” — it might be proprioception doing its best to cope.

I'm a little excited to finally see this in print 😊

When I first started working with children and families, one of the biggest lessons I learnt was that helping isn't always about stepping in.

Sometimes the most important growth happens when children are given the opportunity to try, struggle, problem-solve and discover that they can do hard things, all while knowing a safe adult is nearby.

Thank you to Locale Kids Magazine for the opportunity to share this reflection with local families.
