Pear Tree Occupational Therapy Welcome to Pear Tree Occupational Therapy, a boutique outreach service based in Lara that launched in July 2023.

Hi everyone,

My dear friends Christina Carter and Mark Carter from Gumnut Trails have created a new game that can be played by many ages. It’s called “Turtle Moon”. You can even learn fun facts about turtles, including how to protect them.

The game is available now! I highly recommend it. I’ve ordered one for our family and one for our primary school so kids can develop their social and play skills whilst also learning about conservation and wildlife protection.

The Queensland Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability and Autism Health (QCEIDAH) has developed a growing library of practical resources covering health, communication, healthcare access, wellbeing, and more. Their resources are available in a range of accessible formats, including Easy Read where appropriate, making them useful for individuals, families, support workers and clinicians alike.

As an Occupational Therapist, I’m always on the lookout for high-quality, accessible information that empowers people and supports informed decision-making. This is an excellent resource to add to your toolkit.

Join us for a free ‘come and try’ beginners Auslan taster class with First Hand Auslan. This class is designed for absolute beginners to Auslan, and is open to all ages.

I’m thrilled to hear that Rosewall Community Centre has been successful in their tender to run Lara Community Centre.
