🚨 Back Pain Series Part 2: The Pelvic Tilt 🚨

Pelvic tilts are a simple but effective exercise that can help improve spinal mobility, activate your core muscles, and reduce tension in the lower back. By learning to control the position of your pelvis, you can build a stronger foundation for better posture and movement.

Small movement. Big benefits. 💪

Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) are a group of 13 inherited connective tissue disorders that can impact the joints, skin, and other body systems, influencing daily movement, function, and overall quality of life.

May is recognised as both Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Awareness Month and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) Awareness Month. It’s a time to increase awareness, deepen understanding, listen to lived experiences, and highlight the importance of timely, person-centred care.

Physiotherapists play a key role in supporting individuals with EDS by providing personalised management strategies that focus on strength, stability, function, and confidence in movement. Because EDS presents differently in each person, diagnosis can be complex and often delayed. As a result, physiotherapy care is tailored to the individual, recognising that different forms of EDS require different approaches.

We stand with everyone living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as well as the clinicians, carers, and advocates working to improve awareness, care, and support.

✨ Welcome to the team Nathan ✨

Nathan completed a bachelor of Sport and Exercise science in Melbourne, where he grew up. He then graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University on the Gold Coast in 2024.

Although a generalist, Nathan's main clinical interest are chronic musculoskeletal pain and sports injuries, stemming from his time leading a persistent pain focus group and as the head physio for Surfer Paradise Soccer club on the Gold Coast. Nathan focusses on empowering patient's to take control of their condition and find ways to live meaningfully while recovering from their pain.

Nathan is skilled in manual therapy, including acupuncture and dry needling. He also has extensive understanding in exercise prescription from his 5+ year career in strength and conditioning, which included time with Carlton's AFLW squad in Melbourne.

Outside of the clinic, Nathan enjoys exercising, spending time with friends and discovering new cafes with his partner.
