Both my kids have a diagnosis that is a form of Childhood Dementia. Thanks to the Childhood Dementia Initiative there is much advocacy happening behind the scenes. My two completed mainstream early childhood education and primary school 🏫 and now I homeschool which helps significantly minimize our visits to hospital.

If you’re a teacher, educator or education assistant would you please complete the survey below to help a large number of families across Australia 🇦🇺 ⤵️

We are seeking input from education professionals to inform new resources on supporting children with dementia and their families.

The survey takes 10-15 minutes and no prior knowledge of childhood dementia is required. Closes Friday 26 June.

Because difficulties reading aloud should not be a barrier to learning to read!

New to my TPT store are two bundles that can allow you to support the student who struggles alongside their peers. Compatible with any of the Scope and Sequence progressions for a Systematic Synthetic Phonics / Structured Literacy approach.

This is the resource I used in my own classroom when I had students who knew the right answer but couldn't always share it due to difficulties with speech [Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Articulation errors etc] or difficulties with handwriting [motor planning difficulties, hand tremors etc]. Now working in a clinical context, I love having resources to send into the classroom that I know will just work.
