This hands-on workshop will take you through the process of designing, building and facilitating educational escape rooms that strengthen clinical reasoning, teamwork and communication.

Stress testing hospital procedures through simulation 🏥🔍

A new study by Ekaterini Bakolis and colleagues explores how tabletop translational simulation can be used to test hospital procedures in practice, using a neonatal abduction response as the scenario.

The simulation identified gaps between the written procedure and real-world operational response, highlighting how system-focused simulation can uncover vulnerabilities that may not be identified through procedure review alone.

Building capacity for translational simulation 🏥

A new study by Victoria Brazil and others, explores how healthcare organisations can build capacity for translational simulation, with a particular focus on the role of faculty development.

Drawing on experiences from Australian simulation programs, the authors identified five key themes influencing capacity building, including strategy and leadership, organisational context, trigger events and the importance of relationships, mentorship and shared language.

The findings highlight that faculty development is most effective when embedded within broader organisational systems that actively support translational simulation practice.
