Thinking about a formal qualification, but not sure how to fit study around a full-time role?

Through AAPM's partnership with UNE Partnerships, members can study nationally recognised qualifications by distance education, so study fits around the job rather than the other way around. Options range from Certificate III and IV qualifications in areas like business administration and medical practice assisting, through to the Diploma of Leadership in Healthcare Practice for those ready to formalise their leadership experience.

You went to the training, the webinar, or the conference. The notes are saved, the energy was good, and now the inbox is full again.

Most professional development quietly disappears within a fortnight if nothing changes at your desk. A simple two-week framework can help it stick:

1️⃣Week one: pick one idea from what you learned, not five, and write down exactly what it would look like in your practice.

2️⃣Week two: put it in place, even in a small way, and note what happened.

Two weeks is short enough to actually follow through, and long enough to see whether the idea holds up in real life. It is a simple way to make sure your CPD does more than earn points.

A few days into the 2026 AAPM National Conference, and Brisbane has delivered exactly what we hoped for.

Full sessions, genuine conversations between Practice Managers comparing notes on the same challenges, and the exhibition floor is worth spending real time on. It is a reminder of how much there is to gain simply from being in the room with people who understand the job.
