A lovely team-building afternoon with the best mix of fun and connection. We kicked things off with a coffee (and of course a sweet treat), then put our heads together in a collaborative escape room where communication, problem-solving and a bit of friendly chaos were the secret ingredients.

Watching everyone lean into their strengths, cheer each other on, and celebrating the little wins were the highlights of the day.

We wrapped up with lunch and plenty of laughs. Big thank you to everyone who showed up with great energy and an even better attitude.

Ishar was proud to partner with (ISWA) to deliver an impactful workshop for men on the topic of healthy relationships. Together, we explored the challenges of migration, settlement, employment, and financial pressures, and heard powerful personal stories of courage, resilience, and determination.

We also discussed family and domestic violence, including the drivers of abuse and its impact on individuals, families, and the wider community.

Ishar would like to thank Minesh Manji for help with facilitating the workshop, along with Ramona Chauhan, Divya Sharma and all those at , for supporting this important workshop and we also acknowledge the contribution of all the men who attended, shared their experiences, and supported their peers throughout the session.

We hope the workshop provided valuable insights, knowledge, and a platform for the community to strengthen its commitment to ending family and domestic violence. We look forward to continuing this important journey together.

This program is delivered in partnership with .

To the sweet Mum who shared this review! Thank you for trusting us in such a vulnerable season.

Postpartum recovery can feel heavy and isolating, and support should never be out of reach.

“I can't thank Lauren enough for her kindness and support during a very difficult time. I was struggling with my postpartum recovery, and she took the time to write a detailed support letter.

Lauren is not only highly professional but also genuinely compassionate. Her care, understanding, and willingness to go above and beyond made a real difference to our family during such a challenging period.”

If you’re navigating postpartum and need extra support, we’re here.

Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers: Support Socially Isolated Women

For many migrant and refugee women aged 40+, settling into a new country can feel overwhelming. Language barriers, cultural dislocation, and limited social networks can lead to loneliness and vulnerability, impacting not only individuals, but families and communities.

The WOMN Project (Women of Many Nations) creates safe, welcoming spaces where women can connect, grow, and thrive through:
- Weekly community sessions that build friendship and belonging.
- Health and wellbeing programs tailored to diverse needs.
- Culturally responsive info on healthcare, finances, and community services.
- Peer-led support that strengthens confidence and resilience.

Why we need your support: Demand for WOMN is growing, but our current resources can’t meet the need. Without additional funding, many women will remain isolated and unsupported.

Help us build connections and belonging.

Donate, sponsor, or share this message to reach someone who can support.

A day of discovery with WOMN!

Our WOMN community enjoyed a visit to the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle, where we learned about Western Australia’s rich maritime history, including iconic vessels such as Australia II. The day began with a hot drink at the museum café, followed by a leisurely walk through the nearby streets of Fremantle and along the beautiful shoreline.

For many migrant and refugee women aged 40+, small outings like this can be a powerful way to reduce isolation and build belonging, one shared experience at a time, while also offering gentle physical activity and meaningful social connection.
