šŸ’™ Celebrarating years of dedication at Maryvale Private Hospital šŸ’™

Vicki’s journey at Maryvale Private Hospital is one to be proud of šŸ‘
Vicki’s time at Maryvale spans many years and reflects a long-standing career within the administration and consulting suite areas. Starting in 2002, she worked across a variety of roles, including reception, consulting suites, ward clerk and medical records.

Back when Vicki first started, things looked very different - there weren’t even computers in the consulting suites, with appointments managed through handwritten books! It’s safe to say she has seen a lot of change over the years!

Over her time at Maryvale, Vicki has been well known for:
āļø Being a positive team member and supportive colleague
āļø Well-regarded by patients and doctors for the service she provided
āļø Always willing to step in and assist where needed
āļø A familiar and consistent presence within the hospital

Through ongoing development, training, and years of dedication, Vicki played an important role in supporting the hospital’s mission of delivering quality healthcare to the community.

Thank you Vicki, for your time and contribution over the years - wishing you all the best for what comes next 🌸

We are delighted to share that we have reached our latest fundraising milestone. A big thank-you to the incredible generosity of recent donations and bequests from the community.

This achievement has enabled Maryvale Private Hospital to invest in new equipment to deliver Advanced Life Support (ALS) training, led by our dedicated education and training team.

We recently held two simulation training sessions utilising our new iSim system and mannequin. These sessions bought together members of the Anaesthetic and Operating Room nursing teams in a highly engaging and collaborative learning environment (as photographed).

The introduction of this advanced, moderate to high fidelity simulation technology has significantly enhanced our ability to deliver realistic, hands-on training that supports both clinical excellence and team cohesion.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community 🫶

We loved being part of the Health Industry Day. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm, curiosity and engagement from all students. Thank you to all that were involved in the day, we enjoyed being apart of it.

Students from Chairo Christian School Drouin, Drouin Secondary College, Lavalla Catholic College, Marist-Sion College and Trafalgar High School recently participated in an immersive Health Industry Day (a component of the recent Health Camp) - gaining valuable firsthand experience across a range of healthcare settings.

The day began in aged care at Baptist Care - Heritage Manor Morwell, where Lifestyle Manager, Katie, introduced students to the many multidisciplinary roles within the sector and the vital role they play in supporting older members of our community. Students enjoyed connecting with residents, including the much-loved 'Juicy Lucy' and 'Hot Dot', whose morning chats were a definite highlight!

The learning journey then continued at Maryvale Private Hospital, where students were welcomed by the Clinical Educator, Sacha and healthcare team, for a hands-on introduction to life in a hospital setting. Students immersed themselves in practical activities including CPR and defibrillator training, infection prevention and control procedures, reading patient charts, and taking blood pressure using the same equipment and technology utilised by healthcare professionals every day.

Blake from Ambulance Victoria formed part of the day's rotations, giving students a unique behind the scenes look inside an operational ambulance. Students examined the specialised equipment used by paramedics, and gained a greater understanding of emergency response and patient care in real-world settings.

Thank-you to our partnering industries for putting on a great day! The students represented their schools with enthusiasm and curiosity, making the most of every opportunity to explore future careers in health.

We are proud to congratulate Dr Tanja Bohl on being recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours and awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her contribution to Australian Dermatology and Women’s Health. This award is one of the four levels of recognition in the Order of Australia, which honours individuals for their distinguished service to Australia or humanity at large. The AM award is awarded to 605 people each year, recognising their service and contributions to society.

Tanja is a valued member of the specialist team at Maryvale Private Hospital where she regularly consults and provides expert care in the area of vulvovaginal disease. Her dedication to this specialised field of women’s health spans decades, and her commitment to improving the lives of women has made a profound impact on her patients.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Tanja’s expertise here in Gippsland and are proud to celebrate this well deserved recognition of her outstanding contribution to healthcare.

Congratulations Tanja on this remarkable achievement.

Earlier this week, we came together to celebrate the diversity of cultures that make up our workplace through a multicultural lunch.

Staff shared a delicious variety of dishes, representing different backgrounds, traditions and cuisines from around the world.

A special thank you to Jill and Princy for organising the event, and to everyone who generously prepared and shared their favourite dishes.
