Words and photos from Proactive CEO Andy Hank. Thank you for your constant support and friendship over the past 12 years Andy ❤️
“Days like today make all the hard work worthwhile.
One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is watching people back themselves and create something that improves the lives of their community.
I had the chance to visit Matt and Jo Carman at their fantastic new purpose built rehabilitation and allied health clinic in Murray Bridge, and I’m so stoked for them.
I’ve had the privilege of sharing the journey with Jo since she returned home from the Sunshine Coast in 2014 to start exercise physiology services from scratch in her hometown of Murray Bridge. Back then, it was just an exercise physiology service operating from a small gym.
Over the past 12 years, I’ve watched Jo and Matt grow not only a healthcare business that’s become an important part of the community across Murray Bridge, Adelaide Hills and the Riverland, but also raise a beautiful family and build a multidisciplinary team providing exercise physiology, physiotherapy, dietetics and social work, with podiatry soon to join.
Being able to share that journey with them, both professionally and personally, is something I’m really grateful for. Along the way, a professional relationship has grown into a great friendship, which makes days like today even more rewarding.
More importantly, they’ve helped thousands of people improve their health and quality of life, from veterans and people living with disability to those recovering from injury or managing chronic conditions. Along the way, they’ve created local jobs, invested back into the community and built a service that so many people now rely on.
Matt and Jo, congratulations. The clinic looks fantastic, but what I’m most proud of is what it represents: 12 years of hard work, backing yourselves, caring for your team and patients and never losing sight of why you started.
Your team and community are fortunate to have you both. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings".
