A massive congratulations to Brett Langcake on what would be five, but is actually six years of service, with a little holiday break in between, with Genuine Support Services Australia! 🎉
Brett began his journey with us in 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was an incredibly uncertain and challenging time, when our team pulled together, covered shifts, supported workers who were isolating and did everything possible to keep people safe and supported. Brett was a big part of getting us through that difficult time.
Today, Brett and I had the chance to reflect on where it all began. He remembered me visiting his Certificate III in Disability classroom and making it very clear that I wanted him and several of his classmates on our team. Brett and that group came across to GSSA, and almost all of them are still with us today. He also reflected on the support he received throughout his studies from someone who has since grown into a Team Leader role within our organisation.
Brett shared how much he genuinely enjoys his work, the relationships he has built with his participants and that he cannot see himself working anywhere else. Hearing him say that GSSA will be his final workplace was incredibly special.
Brett is reliable, loyal and genuinely participant-focused. It is the long-standing commitment of people like Brett that we truly value. His hard work, growth and contribution over the past six years have never been taken for granted.
