We are delighted to welcome Dr Ruby Chang to our team.

Dr Chang is an Endocrinologist and Obstetric Physician consulting from our North Sydney Practice, with expertise in women's health, pregnancy-related endocrine conditions, diabetes, and general endocrinology.

She is passionate about providing personalised, evidence-based care and supporting patients through all stages of life, from pre-conception and pregnancy through to the management of complex endocrine conditions.

We look forward to introducing Dr Chang to our patients and community.

Let's talk Melatonin

🌙 Foods that may support natural melatonin production

If sleep has been feeling a bit off lately, what you eat during the day (and evening) can play a small but meaningful role in supporting your body’s natural sleep hormone, melatonin.

Melatonin isn’t just found in supplements — your body actually produces it, and certain foods can help support that process by providing key nutrients like tryptophan, magnesium, and antioxidants.

Here are some foods that may help:

🥜 Almonds – a source of magnesium, which supports relaxation and sleep quality
🍒 Tart cherries – one of the few natural food sources of melatonin
🐟 Salmon – rich in omega-3s and vitamin D, which may support sleep regulation
🥚 Eggs – contain tryptophan, a building block for melatonin
🌾 Oats – provide complex carbohydrates that can help tryptophan reach the brain more easily
🍌 Bananas – contain magnesium and potassium, which support muscle relaxation
