We are proud to have contributed to “Participant Stories,” a publication developed by the SDA_Alliance to showcase the real life impact of Specialist Disability Accommodation.

One of the stories featured belongs to Carl - a Sana Living tenant. He shares how SDA has helped him maintain his independence, stay connected to the people and things he loves and continue living life on his terms despite the challenges of living with disability.

We’re proud to share that we have renewed our sponsorship with WA Sitting Volleyball, continuing our support of inclusive sport, connection and participation within the disability community.

Sitting volleyball is a fast paced, highly inclusive sport open to people of all abilities, with opportunities for both social participation and high level competition.

Three sites. Three stages.

Construction is progressing across South Australia, with exciting milestones reached at each of our newest SDA developments:

🏗️ Morphett Vale – framing is underway and the homes are beginning to take shape.

🧱 Port Noarlunga – slabs are down and construction is officially underway, (pictured is Megan our SA Development manager).

🚜 Christies Downs – demolition is now complete, bringing us one step closer to a new site.

Every stage represents more than bricks and mortar. It’s another step towards creating thoughtfully designed homes that support independence, choice and quality of life.

Last week Adrian and Andy from our Accommodations team installed a new washing machine for Rhiannan who moved into her new Sana Living villa the day before.

She was so happy she presented both of them with paper hearts with their names written on them. ✍️💛💛

At Sana Living we don’t think people living with disability should have to settle for housing that feels clinical or designed to tick compliance boxes.

Accessible doesn’t mean basic and it also shouldn’t eliminate choice.

If you’re already in SDA and for some reason it doesn’t feel like the home you belong in… consider the following:

- Is the location isolating or providing aspirational lifestyle and community?

- Is there adequate privacy and a sense of ownership?

- Does the layout limit independence?
