Today's Resilience & Reinvention featured author is Khatija Halabi! โจ
Khatija is an audiologist, speaker, community builder and advocate whose lifeโs work is grounded in one powerful belief: empowerment happens through connection. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, she migrated to regional Victoria more than two decades ago, bringing with her both professional expertise and a deep understanding of what it means to rebuild identity, belonging and purpose in a new country. What began as a journey marked by uncertainty and a fear of public speaking has evolved into a powerful story of resilience and reinvention. Today, Khatija is recognised for her work in multicultural leadership, womenโs empowerment, social cohesion and hearing health, using her voice to create spaces where others feel seen, heard and valued.
With more than 20 years of experience in audiology, Khatija is the founder of Casey Hearing, a values-driven practice dedicated to helping people of all backgrounds and hearing abilities fully participate in life. Beyond healthcare, she supports migrant women and women in business by fostering connection across cultures and industries. Her contribution to community leadership and migrant empowerment has been recognised through her Women Changing the World Awards for Migrant Leadership. At her core, Khatija is a mother raising empowered daughters, a migrant who honours both her heritage and adopted home, and a woman committed to restoring hearing, confidence and voice - one person, one story and one connection at a time.
