🔨 TRADIE HEALTH MONTH 👂 Tradies can fix almost anything—but damaged hearing isn’t something you can patch with duct tape!
🦺 A sledgehammer can reach 140 decibels—loud enough to damage hearing instantly.
⏱️ At 91 decibels, just two hours can have the same noise impact as eight hours at 85 decibels.
🔔 Ringing or buzzing after work isn’t “just part of the job”—it may be tinnitus.

👂 Noise-related hearing loss usually happens gradually, so your family may notice it before you do.

During Tradies National Health Month, add a hearing check to your maintenance list. Book with Casey Hearing today.

Ongoing learning is about staying up to date and being better equipped to serve our clients.

At Casey Hearing, we believe learning never stops. Hearing technology continues to evolve, and as independent audiologists, it’s important that we continue to explore new innovations, ask questions and understand what’s available so we can make informed recommendations for each individual.
Recently, Khatija Halabi attended the launch of the Unitron Moxi SRX, taking the opportunity to learn more about the technology, its features and how it may support people with their hearing needs. Can you spot her in these campaign pics?

Curious about what’s new in hearing technology or wondering whether there might be a better option for you?
📞 Get in touch with Casey Hearing for a conversation. We’d love to help you explore what’s possible for your hearing.

Thanks Unitron Australia for the pics.

🐘 Today is World Elephant Day! Created to raise awareness of the threats facing African and Asian elephants—including habitat loss, human-elephant conflict and poaching—this day celebrates these intelligent, deeply social animals.

Did you know?
👂 Elephants communicate using very low-frequency rumbles, some below the range of human hearing.

🌍 These sounds can travel long distances through the air and ground.

🦶 Elephants can even detect vibrations through their feet, helping them stay connected with their herd and sense danger.

Elephants remind us that hearing isn’t only about sound—it’s about communication, connection and belonging.

Share these amazing facts with your friends and family today! 💙

We’ve been keeping this one under wraps… But today, on South African Women’s Day, feels like the perfect day to share some exciting news. 🇿🇦❤️

Our audiologist and founder, Khatija Halabi, has been named a finalist in TWO categories in the 2026 AusMumPreneur Awards:

✨ Top 100 – Casey Hearing
✨ Women’s Champion – Casey Hearing

Casey Hearing was built on a simple belief: Hearing care is about more than ears. It’s about people, relationships, families and connection.

Khatija’s vision has always been to create a family-centred practice where people feel heard, supported and empowered throughout their hearing journey.

That same philosophy extends to the culture she has created within Casey Hearing, where our team is valued, supported and encouraged to make a meaningful difference to the people we care for.

And today feels particularly significant.

Khatija’s journey from South Africa to Australia has shaped so much of the way she leads, connects and builds community.

The beautiful image accompanying this post captures the spirit perfectly:
Sisters. Share. Hope. Vision. Solidarity.
Because we believe we rise by helping others rise.

This is a celebration of the people who make Casey Hearing what it is: our team, our clients, their families and our community.

We’re incredibly proud of our founder and grateful to everyone who has been part of the Casey Hearing journey.

From South Africa to Australia, and from our family to yours, thank you for being part of our story. ❤️🇿🇦🇦🇺

Can conversations become easier if you have hearing loss?

The answer is… yes, often they can.

While many types of hearing loss are permanent, that doesn’t mean your ability to communicate can’t improve.

Hearing is about more than simply making sounds louder. It’s also about how your brain processes and makes sense of what you hear.

With the right support, many people notice significant improvements in their ability to follow conversations. This may include:

👂 Hearing aids to provide better access to sound.
🧠 Auditory training to strengthen the brain’s listening skills.
💬 Communication strategies for noisy or challenging environments.
❤️ Personalised care and ongoing support.

Many of our clients tell us that hearing better has given them the confidence to reconnect with family, enjoy social gatherings and participate more fully in everyday life.

If conversations are becoming harder to follow, especially in busy places, don’t assume it’s just something you have to live with. Understanding why you’re finding it difficult is the first step towards finding the right solution.

💬 Have you noticed yourself asking people to repeat themselves more often, even when you can hear them talking? We’d love to answer your questions.

Myth vs Fact
❌ Myth: Hearing aids fix everything.
✅ Fact: Hearing aids provide access to sound—but your brain still needs to learn how to interpret it.

Think of it like getting a new pair of glasses. They help you see more clearly, but they don't instantly make you a faster reader.

Hearing works the same way.

Your ears collect sound, but it's your brain that recognises words, filters out background noise and makes sense of conversations. That's why adjusting to hearing aids can take time—and why ongoing support is so important.

At Casey Hearing, we look beyond hearing devices to help you build confidence, improve communication and get the most from your hearing journey.

💬 Did you know your brain plays such an important role in hearing?

🚨 Important Notice for Hearing Aid & Cochlear Implant Users🚨

If you wear Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids or cochlear implants this is something you'll want to know.

On Monday, 27 July 2026 the Australian Government will conduct a nationwide test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system

🕑 Time:2:00 pm AEST (please check your local time if you're in a different Australian time zone).

During the test, compatible mobile phones will play a 10-second emergency alert siren If your hearing devices are connected to your phone via Bluetooth, the alert may stream directly into your hearing aids or cochlear implant processor, which could be unexpectedly loud or startling.

To avoid being caught by surprise, you may wish to:
🔹 Turn off Bluetooth on your phone around 10 minutes before the test so the alert plays through your phone's speaker instead.
🔹 If preferred, briefly remove your hearing aid(s) or cochlear implant processor just before the scheduled test time.

We're sharing this information so our hearing health community has plenty of notice and can prepare if needed.

Please consider sharing this post with anyone you know who uses Bluetooth-connected hearing devices.💜
