Missed us at the Gold Coast Disability Expo? Here’s a little more about who we are and what we do at CareMatch Australia 💙

Based on the Gold Coast and supporting participants Australia-wide, we provide personalised in-home care and specialist support services designed to help people live life without limitations.

While we support people living with all disabilities, our expertise lies in spinal cord injury care and complex physical disabilities - particularly wheelchair-based support, where highly-skilled, experienced care is essential.

Through both on-ground local teams and dedicated fly-in, fly-out support staff, we’re able to deliver specialised care to participants across metro, regional and remote communities Australia-wide.

Our personalised support plans can include:
✔️ Personal care
✔️ Assistance to appointments
✔️ Community access and social support
✔️ Daily living assistance
✔️ Specialist spinal cord injury support
✔️ Nursing supports with clinical oversight from our full-time Registered Nurse

At the heart of everything we do is genuine connection, quality care and helping our participants maintain independence, confidence and quality of life.

If you’d like to learn more about us and how we may be able to support you or your loved one, feel free to reach out to our team anytime - we’d love to chat.

What a great couple of days at the Gold Coast Disability Expo! 🙌

As our first expo, the experience has been incredibly worthwhile, eye-opening and a valuable learning opportunity for the CareMatch team.

Over the weekend, we’ve had countless conversations and met so many interesting people with fascinating stories, experiences and perspectives. We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by Booth 9 to connect with us. 💙

One of the biggest highlights has been building new relationships across the industry - including allied health professionals, support coordinators and plan managers, and many more. These connections only strengthen the support network surrounding our clients and help us continue delivering high-quality, collaborative care.

Thank you to everyone involved in making the event such a success. We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to attending more expos as we continue to grow CareMatch Australia into the future.

What does NDIS registration actually mean - and why does it matter in spinal cord injury care?

While it may seem like a behind-the-scenes compliance process, registration is really about confidence: confidence in quality, safety, consistency, and the standards guiding support delivery.

For us, it's about building on what we already do well and having those standards and expertise formally recognised.

As we move through the final stages of NDIS registration, it’s given us an opportunity to reflect on what this journey means for the people we support and the future of specialised SCI care.

Not all great support is loud.

Sometimes, it’s the quieter skills that make the biggest difference - showing up consistently, staying calm under pressure, and knowing when someone needs support (and when they need space). 🤝

That’s exactly what Orlando brings to his role at CareMatch.

In our latest team profile article, Orlando shares his perspective on building trust, supporting independence, and the everyday moments that shape great care.

💬 “You learn when to give someone alone time, and when to show up.”

👨‍🍳 From chef to carer - and the skills behind great support.

Not all great carers come from a healthcare background.

Toby started his career as a chef, working in a fast-paced environment where pressure is constant and standards matter. Today, he brings that same discipline, focus and consistency into his role supporting people through CareMatch.

It’s a reminder that great care isn’t just about being a “nice person” - it’s about:
∙ Staying calm under pressure
∙ Being prepared and reliable
∙ Maintaining high standards
∙ Continuously learning and improving

“If anything goes awry, you can’t let yourself spiral - you need to stay focused.”

We’re proud to share Toby’s story and the role skill, training and mindset play in delivering high-quality support.

A great night at the Everything is Possible Gala 💙

On Saturday night, our CareMatch leadership team - Tori, Henry, Fiona and Broni - attended the Everything is Possible Gala at The Star, Gold Coast, alongside their partners and families.

It was another incredible evening that not only celebrated the work of the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation, but also shone a light on something often unseen - the deeply personal, everyday moments that come with living with a spinal cord injury.

From morning routines to winding down at night, the event paid tribute to the lived moments of an injury and the carers who support these moments with respect and compassion.

We’re proud to support initiatives like this that raise vital funds for spinal cord injury research, and continue to push forward what’s possible for those living with SCI.

Another meaningful night. 💙
