Massage Room Tip 💡

Nothing ruins a relaxing treatment quite like tripping over cords!

A few simple ways to keep your massage room safe, tidy and professional:

• Use an extra mat over the cords
• Secure cords along walls where possible
• Keep power boards tucked away and off walkways
• Bundle excess cable length with Velcro ties
• Do a quick “trip hazard check” between clients

A clutter-free room not only looks better, it helps create a calm, safe space for both you and your clients.

What little things do you do in your treatment room to make life easier?

Another little massage room tip.

Electric blankets on massage tables = elite client comfort 😅

Honestly, speaking from a client’s perspective, I think more Physio’s, chiros and other health professionals should use them too 😉.

Especially here in Tassie where the weather is permanently set to “slightly freezing” 🥶

A warm table helps clients:
• relax quicker
• stop tensing up
• settle into treatment faster

Mine is just a simple electric blanket and clients comment on it constantly.

Tiny comfort upgrade. Big difference ✨

One quick clinic tip that makes your space feel instantly calmer 👇

HIDE 👏 THE 👏 CORDS 👏

✔️ Less visual clutter
✔️ Safer to move around
✔️ Easier cleaning
✔️ Less chance of getting completely overstimulated by random dangling cables by Thursday

Tiny changes honestly make the biggest difference in a massage space.

Hope this helps.

Why do I side-lay pregnancy clients instead of using face-down pregnancy pillows?

One reason is something called the inferior vena cava (IVC).

The IVC is a major vein that returns blood from the lower body back to the heart.

As pregnancy progresses, lying flat on the back or spending long periods face down can place pressure through the abdomen and potentially affect comfort, circulation and decreasing blood flow to the heart means decreasing blood flow around the body.

Side-lying positioning helps:
✨ support circulation
✨ reduce unnecessary abdominal pressure
✨ improve comfort
✨ support relaxed breathing
✨ allow the body to fully soften and relax

I was listening to the podcast featuring Obstetrician, Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist discussing pregnancy-safe treatments and positioning, definitely worth a listen if you’re pregnant or work within the pregnancy space.

Most pregnant clients settle into the side pillows and never want to move again 😅

Pregnancy massage should feel safe, supported and deeply relaxing.

Why I take 30 minutes between clients…
That little gap means I can:

• Not rush my clients out the door
• Clean & reset the room properly
• Change towels without rushing
• Write treatment notes while I still remember your “weird shoulder thing”
• Have a cup of tea ☕️
• Eat something other than a protein bar inhaled in 12 seconds
• Stretch my own body before fixing everyone else’s
• Breathe for a minute
• Regulate my nervous system
• Go to the toilet in peace 😂
• Mentally reset before the next client
• Be ready for you when you arrive.

Burnout doesn’t make better therapists.
Regulated therapists do.

And honestly… sometimes I just need 30 minutes to sit quietly and relax 😅 Sometimes this doesn’t happen as you just need to sometimes shuffle people around but ideally 30 minutes between people works really well for me.

From previously working in Physio’s, for NRL teams, in day spas, in hotels, as a mobile therapist this isn’t possible.

Find what works for you. Avoid burnout at all costs.

I think I thought about painting this wall green for two years 😅 💚🍃

Turns out all it took was a holiday, a reset, and one extra week off to finally get it done.

Honestly, I forgot how good proper rest can be.
Not just sleep-ins and snacks… but actually stepping away long enough to come back with loads of energy again.

Back in the studio tomorrow feeling recharged, refreshed, and ready to earn that pesky little thing we all need… 💸😂

Now available in the studio.

10 peanut shaped heat stickers $5 per packet.

Why I like to use heat stickers 🔥

• Encourage muscles to stay relaxed
• Increase local blood flow
• Help soothe tight, overworked areas
• Provide gentle, long-lasting warmth without bulky heat packs
• Perfect for flying ✈️
• Period pain relief

They’re subtle, effective, and a lovely way to heat areas when you need to keep doing the things.

⚠️ A little care is important
Heat stickers aren’t for everyone.

• Not suitable for very sensitive skin
• Avoid on fragile, broken, or recently shaved skin
• Always remove at least 1 hour before showering
• If you feel excess heat, itching, or irritation, remove straight away

Your skin safety always comes first 🤍
