Our massage community has lost a truly wonderful therapist and beautiful human. 🤍

Lucy had such a genuine passion for caring for others, sharing her knowledge and making a difference in people’s lives. Her role within the community went far beyond the treatment room, offering kindness, connection and support to so many.

Never one to stay in the same place for too long, Lucy had a natural curiosity for life, people and adventure. Massage was the perfect profession for her, allowing her to connect with people from all walks of life, share her wisdom and take her passion for helping others wherever life led her.

She was generous with her knowledge, passionate about her work and always willing to share what she knew.

Our industry has lost one of its very best, and our community has lost a dear friend.

What a beautiful legacy of care, kindness and connection she leaves behind.

Continuing my little wellness journey around Tasmania, this time visiting the beautiful Selkie Wellness Garden in Bicheno.

A thoughtfully created space where hot and cold contrast therapy meets relaxation, surrounded by the elements.

The ritual is simple:

🌿 CHANGE – Slip into your swimmers and leave the day behind.

💧 RINSE – Shower before entering the sauna.

🔥 SWEAT – Settle into the warmth of the sauna, breathe and unwind.

🚿 RINSE – Step outside for a refreshing shower.

🧊 EMERGE – Immerse yourself in the ice bath and embrace the cold!

🔁 REPEAT – Move between hot and cold at your own pace.

#&RELAX – Slow down, breathe and enjoy the feeling afterwards.

I’m really enjoying taking some time away from my own massage room to experience what other Tasmanian wellness businesses have created.

A beautiful reminder that sometimes we need to practise what we preach. 🌿

A Week of Wellness 🌿

First stop: Tailrace Sauna & Plunge,

Taking a week away from the massage room to slow down, recharge and explore some of the wonderful wellness experiences other small businesses have to offer.

First up, Tailgate Sauna in Branxholm, just outside Derby.

A little time to unwind, enjoy the warmth and embrace the simple pleasure of doing something good for the body and mind.

Little ones are always welcome at & Relax 🌿

I know how busy life can get, especially when you’re juggling work, kids and everything in between.

If finding someone to look after your little one is the only thing stopping you from booking a massage, please know they’re welcome to come along.

A few toys, some colouring in or a little drawing while you get your treatment.

Because looking after yourself shouldn’t have to wait until life gets less busy.

A little flexibility goes a long way. 💚

Finding beauty in the mundane 🌿

Flowers picked from the backyard.
Folding towels with a view of the garden.
Admiring the colour of the walls for probably the hundredth time.
Sitting in my dad’s garden for lunch.
Opening the studio up for the day.
The little rituals between each client.

Nothing particularly exciting.
But I think that’s the point.

There’s something lovely about noticing the small things, the ordinary moments that make a space feel calm, considered and cared for.

A little reminder that slowing down doesn’t always have to mean doing nothing.

Sometimes it’s just noticing what’s already around you.

Maybe the best part of a massage isn’t something you can measure.

Maybe it’s simply an hour where your phone isn’t in your hand.
No emails. No messages. No scrolling. No one needing anything from you.

Just you.

Stripped back from the noise of everyday life, with nothing to do but lie there, breathe, feel your body and let your thoughts wander.

You don’t have to talk.
You don’t have to achieve anything.
You don’t even have to think.

Sometimes we just need an hour where the world can wait.

My social media game might be slightly behind but thankfully my massage skills aren’t. 😆

It’s easy to look at social media and assume it tells us the whole story about someone their experience, qualifications, knowledge or success.

But a polished feed doesn’t necessarily equal experience, and a quiet one certainly doesn’t mean someone has stopped learning, working or growing.

Social media is a snapshot.

Behind Instagram is nearly 20 years of hands on massage experience, continued learning, thousands of bodies worked on and a genuine love for what I do.

We’re so used to filling every spare minute that sometimes doing less feels like doing nothing.

But slowing down doesn’t have to mean taking the whole day off. It can be found in the little things:

* Take your morning coffee outside and leave your phone inside.
* Go for a walk without worrying about pace, steps or distance.
* Sit in the sun for 10 minutes.
* Cook something slowly, just because you enjoy it.
* Put your phone on silent for an hour.
* Spend time in the garden.
* Read a few pages of a book.
* Take five slow, deep breaths.
* Book a massage. 😉
* Or simply do absolutely nothing for a little while without feeling guilty about it.

Your nervous system needs moments where there’s nowhere to be and nothing to achieve.

Life moves fast. You don’t always have to. 🌿
