AI can never replace the person who remembers how you take your coffee ☕️
Who notices when you're having a hard day.
Who sits with you, not just "for" you.

But it can handle the admin. The reminders. The notes.

The nitty gritty stuff that used to eat into the time we had with our participants. And when that weight lifts? Our team leaders get to show up the way they were always meant to, fully present, fully focused on the person in front of them.

That's person-centred support. Not just a value we talk about. Something we actually protect. 💟

💬 If you work in the NDIS or disability sector, does this hit home for you? Drop a comment below. We want to hear what you think.

Sydney's best pies? We found them. And it's not where you'd expect 🥧😍

Cheesecake is on the menu. 🍰

Watch our participant absolutely nail it, and know that while she's baking, something incredible is happening in her brain 🧠

10 ways cooking is good for you that you probably never thought of:

1️⃣ It rewires your brain. Following a recipe builds new neural pathways every single time.

2️⃣ It's actually a maths class. Measuring, halving, doubling — your brain is calculating without even realising.

3️⃣ It trains patience. Waiting for a cheesecake to set teaches delayed gratification better than any therapy session.

4️⃣ It's mindfulness without the meditation app. When you're focused on texture, smell and timing — you're fully present.

5️⃣ It builds sequencing skills. What comes first, what comes next — that's executive function being exercised in real time.

6️⃣ Smell triggers memory and emotion. The scent of something baking is one of the most powerful mood regulators we have.

7️⃣ It builds genuine confidence. You made something from nothing. That feeling doesn't lie.

8️⃣ It develops fine motor skills — cracking eggs, stirring, pouring — small movements, big benefits.

9️⃣ It creates connection. Cooking for someone is one of the oldest forms of love.

1️⃣0️⃣ It proves capability. Not to anyone else. To yourself.

At Dream Maker, we create spaces where our participants get to discover exactly what they're capable of. Every single day.

Kind Regards,

"You can't just get into support work thinking you're going to make money, money, money." 🤑

Team Leaders, Clayton Meagher and Jacinta Obeid don't hold back on this one on UNREGISTERED podcast. They talk about sleepover rates, burnout, and why the NDIS will filter you out fast if you're not in it for the right reasons.

What a day! 🫶🏻✨

April took on Sydney in style, rain and all. From the train ride in with Harbour Bridge views, to exploring the city streets, to an epic stop at the LEGO store where she met a koala and claimed the World Cup.

No big deal. This is what community access looks like, choosing how you spend your day, getting out there, and having a great time doing it.

We don't think anyone accidentally ends up here.

There's something in the people who choose this work. A patience that can't be taught. A way of seeing people that most of the world rushes past.

You show up thinking you're the one giving.
And then a participant — quietly, without even trying — teaches you something about resilience you didn't know you needed.
About joy that doesn't wait for perfect circumstances. About what it actually means to be present with another person.

Nobody put that in the job description.

Some people ask how we do this work.
But the honest answer is — we don't know how NOT to.

Nobody talks about how powerful community is for people with a disability.

Not just support. Not just care.
Belonging.

We took our participants to the NRL — Wests Tigers vs Warriors in Campbelltown — and it wasn't about the scoreboard.

It was watching our participants laugh with total strangers.
Cheering together.

Giving grief to the other side. Just… being part of it all.

That's true community. And it's something every person — disability or not — deserves to feel.

We didn't win that night. But we left full.

Thanks Campbelltown City Council for having us.
