While travelling in a wheelchair accessible taxi, the electronic lift system stopped responding and required a computer reset before it could operate again. The reset process took approximately 15 minutes, highlighting how technology issues can impact travel for wheelchair users who rely on accessible transport services.

The discussion will cover alternative pathways, education, mentoring, participation, strengths-based approaches, and the importance of creating accessible and inclusive spaces where people can thrive.

If you are neurodivergent, an ally, educator, employer, parent, or simply interested in building more inclusive communities, we encourage you to attend.

Ability Heroes attended Murdoch University's mentoring information session to support future talent and strengthen industry-student engagement.

We joined local professionals to explore how mentoring conversations can shape career pathways and build future workforce capability. The programme offers a structured, manageable commitment designed to help emerging professionals grow with guidance from experienced leaders.

Ability Heroes held a Leaders Business Breakfast on disability inclusion and the shift from charity to active community and economic contribution. The session explored how community-driven accessibility information can support more confident participation across Western Australia.

We looked at how accessibility data can be gathered, moderated, and shared in one place, shaped by lived experience and strengthened through community contributions, local trials, and partnerships.

Thank you to representatives from organisations such as Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, Centre for Accessibility AUS, and OpenAustralia for adding valuable perspectives to the morning's discussion.
