๐ค๐โค๏ธInternational Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples
Today we recognise and celebrate the rich cultures, languages, histories and enduring contributions of Indigenous peoples around the world.
In Australia, we acknowledge the strength, resilience and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, whose knowledge has been passed down through generations for tens of thousands of years.
Connection to Country, culture, family and community plays an important role in health and wellbeing throughout life. As we work to support people living with dementia and their families, we also recognise the importance of providing care that is culturally safe, respectful and centred on each person's unique story and identity.
Today is an opportunity to listen, learn and celebrate the world's oldest continuing cultures.
