TENDING TO THE MOTHER 🌹

From the awakening of becoming a mother, I didn’t realise just how vital it was to tend to the mother.

Through my own unconscious ways of being, it was only after having my own children that I began to truly see the utmost importance of tending to the mother.

It has become my passion and my mission to change the way we view and support mothers in our society.

We are not tending to mothers simply for the act of “self-care.”
It goes far beyond that.

It’s about changing the way mothers are supported, so they can parent from a place of greater nourishment, connection and capacity. So they can parent in the way they truly want to—and in turn, raise more conscious, connected and supported humans on this planet.

The first real step is making a new choice to see mothers differently.

To recognise that she needs tending to, too.

And then, taking the small steps to support her.
Big or small, it can make all the difference.

This is my vision.
This is my mission.

May all mothers be supported, held and cared for—especially in those sacred first few weeks after birth. 🌹

So grateful to be of service in this way.

Let’s tend to our mothers. 🌹

If you’re looking for something extra special for your postpartum care this time around, send me a PM for a FREE chat to explore your options.

What if we stopped asking mothers to “bounce back” — and started asking, “How can we nourish her?” 🌿

There is an ancient understanding that the days and weeks after birth matter deeply.

In Ayurveda, postpartum is a time of vulnerability, softness and profound transformation.
A time when the mother needs to be held, not just the baby.

Warm food.
Warm oil.
Herbal teas.
Rest.
Gentle bodywork.
A quiet home.
Someone cooking for you.
Someone listening.
Someone reminding you that you don’t have to do it all.

Because the mother is being born too.

This is the heart of the work I offer through Ayurvedic postpartum care — creating a space where mothers can soften, receive and be deeply cared for during one of the most sacred thresholds of their lives.

🌿 POSTPARTUM CARE PACKAGES — LIMITED AVAILABILITY
I have upcoming spaces for mothers wanting to be held through the postpartum window with nourishing Ayurvedic food, bodywork, herbal support, emotional care and practical tending of the mother and home.

🌸 MOTHER CIRCLE — THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12
A space to gather with other women. To exhale. To share. To be witnessed. To remember that motherhood was never meant to be lived in isolation.

🔥 BASICS OF POSTPARTUM CARE — OCTOBER 4
I’m also opening the doors to my upcoming workshop for doulas, birth workers, practitioners and anyone who feels called to understand what true postpartum care can look like.

We’ll return to the basics — warmth, nourishment, herbs, rest, emotional support, body care and the sacred importance of protecting the mother after birth.

This is my invitation to bring the village back.

To remember that caring for the mother is not an extra.

It is essential.

If you’re a mother needing support, a woman longing for community, or a birth worker wanting to learn how to better tend to mothers — I would love to welcome you.

Mothering the Mother 💕

“And who’s holding you? While you hold so much” Said one of my mentors this past weekend I sat there and had tears rolled down my face….

The integrity of this work for me to hold mothers, is deeply rooted in my willingness to get held myself when all s**t hits the fan.

Even though I am mastering the art at holding space, I am still learning how to be held myself. This is my growth. What an honor to hold mothers during this potent time of our evolution.

We are at a threshold of big change, and my passion and dharma is leading me to fully show up for our mothers - so our world can parent children even better than before.

When our mothers are held, seen, supported there is a direct link that happens to the entire household for the better. As we are one organism- when one nervous system is off the wave of that nervous system can tip sideways… this is why mother circles are so key in those first years of motherhood. To gain a sense of knowing you are not alone, there is a space to be held and there is a coherence of love and supported weaved into your being. As well as learning breathing techniques you can use throughout your day when you’re stressed and overwhelmed or sleep deprived.

If you’ve read this far… I think it’s time you hear that nudge of your soul and come get nourished by your community of mothers.

The space is so nurturing and welcoming. I serve yummy postpartum treats and warm cacao to open up our hearts. A heart sharing circle and a yoga nidra at the end for that deeper relaxation.

Also ps. You can bring your baby and toddler and we will provide someone to look out for them! A true village of support :)

This next circle we will be having as well one of our practitioners from the village share some wisdom on nutrition during pregnancy Tori I Pregnancy Nutritionist & Midwife 🫶🏻👏🏻💕

Being held, receiving support, an overall valuable experience for all. Walking away lighter and more love in your heart.

Hope to see you there. September 12th from 10-12pm! Get your tickets at Nurturing Women Through Every Stage of Motherhood 💕🫶🏻

if you’ve never had a son,
it’s easy to think they’re too much.

too loud.
too wild.
too full of chaos.

but what you don’t see
is the boy who runs full speed into his mama’s arms,
who kisses her face like she’s the whole world,
who would protect her with everything he has.

one minute he’s body-slamming you on the couch,
the next he’s curled up in your lap,
whispering “i love you” with his whole heart.

they don’t ever stop moving,
but they don’t ever stop loving either.

yes, they’ll push every button.
yes, they’ll stretch you to your limits.
yes, they’ll wear you out until you collapse into bed.

but they will also fill your heart
in ways you didn’t even know it was empty.

boys aren’t too much.
they are everything,
wild and loud and soft and tender,
all at the same time.

and there is nothing in this world
like being loved by a boy.

🤍 MOTHERING THE MOTHER 🪷

I’m so thrilled to share more about the postpartum care I offer during the first 4–6 weeks after birth. 🌿

These weeks are a profound transition. While everyone naturally focuses on the baby, the mother needs to be nourished, held, witnessed and cared for too.

During our time together, I may offer:

🌿 Nourishing Ayurvedic foods
🤍 Emotional support & birth integration
🌸 Ayurvedic oil massage, head & foot massage
❤️ Red light therapy
🌿 Belly binding
🌸 Yoni steaming, when appropriate
🍵 Herbal remedies & nourishing teas
🥘 Postpartum meal train support
🏡 Light household tending
🪢 Closing of the Bones ceremony

But postpartum care is not a checklist.

Every mother and every birth is different. I meet you where you are and respond to what you need in that moment.

Sometimes you need a massage.
Sometimes you need a nourishing meal.
Sometimes you need to talk about your birth.
Sometimes you simply need someone to take something off your plate so you can rest.

You don’t have to do it all alone. 🤍

There is something so powerful about being deeply supported during this vulnerable and transformative time. When a mother feels safe, nourished and cared for, she has more space to soften, heal and find her way into motherhood.

This is why I do what I do.

To care for the woman behind the mother.
To nourish her.
To honour her birth.
To hold space for her becoming.
To remind her that she matters too.

Because when mothers are supported, mothers can thrive — and when mothers thrive, families and communities thrive. 🌿

If you’re expecting a baby and would love support during your first 4–6 weeks postpartum, I’d love to connect with you.

🤍 You deserve to be mothered, too.

The Twins in the Womb 🤍

Two babies were growing together in their mother’s womb.

One asked the other,
“Do you believe there is life after birth?”

“Absolutely,” said the other. “There must be. Perhaps this life is preparing us for what comes next.”

The first twin shook his head.

“Impossible. What could life after birth possibly look like? We’ll lose our umbilical cord, and without it, how could we survive? No one has ever come back to tell us what’s on the other side.”

The second twin replied,
“Maybe we won’t need the cord anymore. Maybe there is something beyond what we can see.”

“But what about Mother?” asked the first. “Do you believe in her too?”

“Yes. She is all around us. We live inside her. We are held by her, nourished by her, and loved by her even though we cannot see her.”

The first twin laughed.

“If Mother exists, why can’t we see her?”

The second answered softly,
“Sometimes, when everything is quiet, you can feel her presence.”

As the time for birth approached, the twins became afraid.

“This must be the end,” said the first. “We are leaving everything we know.”

But the second twin held onto faith.

“Perhaps this isn’t the end. Perhaps it is the beginning.”

Then came the moment they had feared.

They were born.

They left the only world they had ever known.

And when they opened their eyes, they discovered something they could never have imagined:

They were being held by their Mother.

The world they thought was the end…

was actually the beginning. 🤍

And perhaps motherhood is a little like this.

We enter each new chapter afraid because we cannot see what is waiting on the other side.

Birth.
Becoming a mother.
Letting go.
Growing.
Changing.

Sometimes we have to trust that just because we cannot see what comes next, doesn’t mean we aren’t being held.

There may be a whole new life waiting for us beyond the threshold.

And maybe…

we are never as alone as we think we are. 🤍

On this day two years ago, I birthed my second son Jai Gabriel Jackson. Full Victory! August 1st, 2024 🦁 My fierce but gentle lion boy. Lotus natural home birth. No midwife present.

I felt the time has come to share with you my precious birth video with anyone that wants to see and feel the power of sovereign natural home birth.

This birth was a reclaiming of some of the pain and unfortunate things that occurred that I experienced in my first birth even though overall it was still in power and we were all safe and healthy. This was a birth that I was able to CHOOSE who I wanted there and why. How I wanted to be supported during and after birth. I was so grateful for the few but very powerful and intentional people that supported me in this birth and postpartum.

May all mothers be honored in the power of creation, birth and life giving motherhood.

May all mothers feel supported and honored.

May all mothers remember there right to listen and be heard.

May all mothers celebrate how badass they are.

I am in awe of birth, the most psychedelic spiritual experience of my life, that brought me closer to god then any other plant medicine journey has.

Blessing to my lion king 👑 I am so grateful for his wisdom that he already has shared with us even before he was born. I bow to his courage to be in LIFE during these massive times and I honor his path of growth. He’s definitely in his third chakra finding his will of direction and honesty.

After all he really wanted to be birthed on the earth, of the earth and surrounded by massive tall forest trees.

Happy Birthday My Beautiful Jai Baby Boy! You are a the sweetest lion 🦁 with a fierce heart of gold. 💛

We love you!

Mama Joy 💋

Today at the Village, I was reminded why this work has my whole heart.

Every mother I sat with carried a different story.

One was navigating the heartbreak of leaving her little one to go to work.

Another was grieving the loss of who she once was while learning to embrace the sacred role of motherhood.

Another was preparing to birth her baby after losing her beloved husband only months ago. Her courage left me speechless.

Then I had the honour of offering a specialized massage to a woman living with stage 4 cancer. As I placed my hands on her, I thought of my own mother, Rebecca, whose journey with cancer is one of the reasons I chose this path of healing.

Today reminded me that everyone is carrying something.

Our struggles are real, but so is our capacity for compassion. When we slow down enough to truly see one another, our hearts soften.

These spaces of healing, connection and community are medicine.

To every mother who shared her heart with me today, thank you. You reminded me that I am exactly where I am meant to be.

Thank You, God, for allowing me to be a vessel.

With love,

Mama Joy 🤍
