That pain just below your kneecap after running or jumping? Your patellar tendon may be taking more load than it can handle. 🦵⚡

The patellar tendon connects your kneecap to your shinbone and works hard every time you run, jump, land or climb stairs. When repeated loading exceeds what the tendon can tolerate, irritation and patellar tendinopathy often called jumper’s knee can develop.

If your knee suddenly “gives way,” don’t brush it off as weakness, it can be a warning sign of an ACL injury. 🦵🏉

Pain, swelling, instability and losing confidence while walking, running or changing direction can all signal that your knee needs proper assessment. Catching the problem early can help guide the right recovery plan and reduce the risk of further injury.

👉 Don’t ignore a knee that keeps giving way get it evaluated early.

The Dinnie Stone Lift is an extreme test of strength and under a very heavy load, even a small loss of control can place enormous stress through the knee.
In this type of position, with the knee close to full extension, a sudden forward shift of the tibia can place high tension on the ACL the ligament that helps prevent excessive forward movement of the shin bone.
A complete ACL injury can lead to pain, swelling, instability, and difficulty returning to sport. Management depends on the individual, the tear, activity level, and goals. Rehabilitation is important before and after surgery when reconstruction is required.

Damaged knee cartilage doesn’t simply “grow back” but surgeons have ways to encourage repair.

This video shows a technique called microfracture, where tiny holes are created in the bone beneath a cartilage defect. This allows bone-marrow cells and healing factors to reach the area and form new repair tissue over the damaged surface.

It’s a fascinating example of how orthopaedic surgery can work with the body’s own healing response.

One split second tackle. One awkward twist. And your ACL can take the load.

In footy, a planted foot combined with sudden rotation or force through the knee can place serious stress on the ACL one of the key ligaments responsible for knee stability. This reel shows why ACL injuries are such a major concern in fast, high-contact sports.

One ankle roll can overstretch the ligaments on the OUTSIDE of your ankle in seconds.

When the foot suddenly rolls inward during sport, the lateral ankle ligaments can become stretched or torn leading to pain, swelling and instability. It may look like a small twist, but the damage underneath can be more significant than you think.
