๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’™ Proud to Support the Wembley Football Club All Abilities Team! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‰

Today, Able WA had the pleasure of presenting the Wembley Football Club All Abilities Team with their brand-new shorts as part of our sponsorship of this fantastic group of athletes.

The team took on the University side down at Mount Claremont and, while the result didn't fall our way this time, the scoreboard never tells the whole story. What we saw today was determination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a whole lot of heart. Every player gave it their all and represented the club with pride.

At Able WA, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, connect, and be part of a community. That's exactly what the All Abilities program achieves, and we're incredibly proud to play a small part in supporting it.

A huge thank you to everyone involved at Wembley Football Club for creating such an inclusive and welcoming environment, and congratulations to all the players on a great game. Keep your heads highโ€”you should all be proud of your efforts today!

Here's to many more games, friendships, and great memories throughout the season. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‰

๐Ÿš€ Big News from Able WA! ๐Ÿš€

Weโ€™re excited to officially announce that Able WA is now a fully registered NDIS provider!

This is a huge milestone for us and something weโ€™ve worked incredibly hard towards โ€” and weโ€™re proud to now be able to support participants across a broader range of services.

๐Ÿ’ก We are now registered for:
โ€ข Support Coordination
โ€ข Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3)
โ€ข Assistive Technology
โ€ข And a growing range of additional supports

๐Ÿ‘‰ Most importantly โ€” we have capacity right now for both Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination.

Over the past year, weโ€™ve had to turn away some participants due to registration requirements โ€” and that never sat well with us.

If youโ€™re someone we couldnโ€™t work with previously (particularly NDIA-managed participants), weโ€™d genuinely love to hear from you again.

๐Ÿ“ฉ Please reach out โ€” weโ€™re ready to support you.

As always, our focus remains the same:
โœ” Straightforward, no-nonsense support
โœ” Strong advocacy when itโ€™s needed
โœ” Real connections โ€” not just ticking boxes

If youโ€™re a participant, family member, or referrer looking for a Support Coordinator who will actually follow things through โ€” feel free to get in touch.

Quiet collaboration opportunity for allied health professionals ๐Ÿค

At Able WA, weโ€™re doing some careful work behind the scenes to strengthen the accuracy and credibility of the information we share with participants, families, and carers across WA ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ“˜

Weโ€™re looking to connect with a small number of allied health professionals we already work alongside and trust (OTs, psychologists, behavior support practitioners, allied health clinicians) to have their professional experience reflected in content relevant to their field.

The intention is simple โ€” ensuring what we publish is grounded in real NDIS practice, not generic or templated information.

Involvement is flexible and respectful of time, and contributors are acknowledged professionally where appropriate, with a short author profile linked to their business.

Who this is for
โœ” Allied health professionals
โœ” Currently working with Able WA participants
โœ” Solid experience in the NDIS space
โœ– Not open to support workers, agencies, or unrelated services

If this sounds relevant, please send the following (copy & paste):
โ€ข Full name
โ€ข Profession / role
โ€ข Years of experience in the NDIS sector
โ€ข Business name
โ€ข Website URL
โ€ข Preferred contact email
โ€ข Confirmation that you currently work with Able WA participants

Please send via DM or email directly to

๐Ÿ’› A gentle reminder to thank someone today ๐Ÿ’›

The disability and NDIS sector can be tough, emotionally draining, and demanding in ways most people never see.

No matter the role, what theyโ€™ve done, or what your relationship is โ€” a simple thank you ๐Ÿ’ฌโœจ can truly brighten someoneโ€™s day and make a real difference.

๐Ÿšจ NDIS participants โ€“ this is important ๐Ÿšจ

Thereโ€™s a lot of confusion right now around sole traders, ABNs, and workers compensation under self-managed and plan-managed NDIS plans โ€” especially in WA.

Weโ€™re seeing participants unknowingly taking on insurance and legal responsibilities simply by the way supports are engaged โ€” even where workers have ABNs or invoice like a business.

This isnโ€™t about fear or blame. Itโ€™s about clarity.

Weโ€™ve put together a plain-English breakdown that explains:
โ€ข when workers compensation is required
โ€ข who is actually responsible
โ€ข why having an ABN doesnโ€™t automatically remove risk
โ€ข how platforms and agencies are treated differently
โ€ข what this means for your NDIS plan and funding

If you are self-managed or plan-managed, this is worth 5 minutes of your time ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ‘‰ Read here: https://ablewa.com.au/do-ndis-support-workers-need-insurance/

This is already generating a lot of questions โ€” and thatโ€™s a good thing.
Understanding your setup now can prevent costly surprises later.

๐Ÿ’ฌ If youโ€™re unsure how this applies to your situation, speak with your Support Coordinator or seek advice directly from WorkCover WA.

Do NDIS support workers need insurance? WorkCover WA explains when participants are responsible for workers compensation and what this means for self or plan-managed supports.

๐Ÿšด Able WA is in! Team โ€œBlind Determinationโ€ is taking on Breathes & Beats!

Weโ€™re thrilled to share that Able WA has entered the Breathes & Beats fundraiser under the team name Blind Determination.

Every month our group rides tandem bikes (up to 15 tandems) through WA in collaboration with the Western Australian Tandem Cycling Advisory Council (WATCAC). These rides give vision-impaired participants the freedom of two-wheel adventure, connection, exercise and friendship.

One of our team rides has a story that mirrors the very purpose of Breathes & Beats โ€” someone whoโ€™s been through the struggle, needed support and emerged with the power of community and cycling behind them.

This is why weโ€™re riding and fundraising: to support people like them and help increase opportunities for mobility, confidence and belonging.

๐Ÿ‘‰ You can support us by donating, sharing this post or leaving a message of encouragement. Every little bit helps.

Thanks for backing Team Blind Determination โ€” letโ€™s ride for change!
