This is one of the questions we get asked most…

At Skin Fairy, we don’t and it’s intentional.

Skin needling is about creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate the skin’s natural repair processes and encourage collagen and elastin production.

Numbing can change the way the skin feels and responds during treatment. Without it, our Fairies can work with your skin’s natural feedback and make adjustments throughout your treatment.

And while you may feel some prickling, warmth or sensitivity during skin needling, it shouldn’t be unbearable.

Pregnant or breastfeeding? Can I still have skin treatments? 🧚

Yes 👏🏼 you can still have some skin treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but your treatment plan and homecare may need to change depending on where you’re at.

Pregnancy doesn’t mean your skin journey has to stop. It just means we need to be more selective about the treatments and ingredients we use.

So, what can you have?

Depending on your skin, your stage of pregnancy and your individual circumstances, we may be able to consider treatments such as DMK Enzyme Therapy, light AHA peels, skin needling and pregnancy-appropriate prescribed homecare.

Your skin can absolutely still be supported, we just change the approach.

And what about breastfeeding?

This is where things can change again. Once you’re breastfeeding, treatments such as DMK advanced treatments, Laser Genesis and LED may be considered, depending on your individual circumstances and skin.

The important part is to always tell your Fairy if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding before your treatment.

This allows us to make sure your treatments and homecare are appropriate for where you’re at and adjust your plan when needed.

Is men’s acne treated differently, or is it the same approach for everyone? 👇🏼

Men’s acne isn’t treated with a completely separate rulebook, but your treatment should always be tailored to your skin, what’s driving your acne and what your skin actually needs.

Acne can be influenced by hormones, inflammation, congestion, your skin barrier, lifestyle and the products you’re using, and for men, shaving can also contribute to irritation, ingrown hairs and breakouts around the beard area.

One of the most important things you can do after surgery is tell us about your procedure, even if it wasn’t recent.

Can acne scars actually be removed, or can we only improve them? 🧚

Most acne scar treatments can significantly improve the appearance of scarring.

Acne scars can form when inflammation from acne damages the skin and affects how collagen is produced during the healing process.

Depending on the type and depth of the scar, we can often improve its appearance by stimulating new collagen and encouraging the skin to remodel the scar tissue.

Treatments for acne scarring may include microneedling, Laser Genesis, Vivace treatments and chemical peels, but there isn’t one treatment that works for every scar.

Your scar type matters.
Your skin tone matters.
The depth of the scar matters.
And if you’re still experiencing active acne, that needs to be considered too.
