With today’s weather creating excitement for summer it’s important to remember that proper sun care is important .
- practise sun safety; this includes reducing sun exposure, the more tan your skin becomes the more risks of complications increase.
- Reapply, sunscreen should be reapplied throughout the day. We love Pro-Paira SPF- an ultralight SPF 50+ that is compatible with all skin types.
- Be aware of airconditioning and increased UV radiation. It will increase the tear evaporation potentially causing inflammation.

Have you seen or experienced one of these before?

Chalazion is a growth on the eyelid when our oil producing glands become blocked.
Sometimes they can cause very little discomfort but most commonly can create an aesthetic issue.
Most chalazion are treated with
- warm compress
- Appropriate lid hygiene
But when they don’t seem to go IPL can be a game changer. This patient had four IPL (opti light) treatments. And the lump has gone. A great option to reduce the chances of needling it surgically removed and protecting our glands.

As the weather is changing, so is our dry eyes.
These symptoms can include
