"If Support Coordinators disappear... who helps participants navigate the NDIS?"
This is a conversation our sector needs to have.
Every week, we help families understand their plans, explain funding rules, coordinate therapists and support workers, organise multidisciplinary meetings, review reports, prepare for plan reassessments, and often prevent small issues from becoming major crises.
Much of that work happens behind the scenes. Much of it is never seen.
Support Coordination isn't just about connecting people with providers. It's about helping participants understand their rights, make informed decisions, use public funding appropriately and build the confidence to navigate an incredibly complex system.
While the cost of delivering Support Coordination continues to rise, funding for these services is becoming increasingly difficult to access for many participants.
We've written a blog about what Support Coordinators really do, why this conversation matters, and what it could mean for participants if quality Support Coordination continues to decline.
Whether you're a participant, family member, therapist, provider, planner, LAC or simply someone who cares about the future of the NDIS, we'd love to hear your perspective.
Please share if you think this conversation deserves a wider audience.
