Although perpetrators are 100% responsible for their acts of sexual aggression, women's actions (active resistance) can prevent sexual assaults. Women who report using active resistance strategies (as an example, yelling) in response to sexual coercion or threat are less likely to be r***d, compared to those responding passively and politely(for example, pleading or reasoning).

Active resistance strategies and assertiveness need to be taught especially for the girls to respond assertively to any unwanted sexual advances.

Sexual health, when viewed affirmatively, requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. It is fundamental to the overall health and well-being of individuals, couples and families, and to the social and economic development of communities and countries .
