Thank you Hearing First for this great video reinforcing the listening and spoken language strategies I have been using with my families. It is rewarding to see how these LSL strategies are now 'second nature' for my parents and seeing the progress the children are making learning to listen and talk.

Kitchen play, outside, with Mum and Dad — all via AVWA teletherapy 💛

Love seeing proactive parents in action: one earbud each so I can coach both Mum and Dad, while play stays completely normal and natural for Noah.
It’s been so exciting to see Noah’s listening and spoken language really develop after the school holidays, especially in this everyday home environment.
This is what meaningful progress looks like — real play, real family, real connection.

It has been a joy to walk alongside you—guiding and coaching as you build the skills, knowledge and confidence to support your child’s listening and spoken language.
Seeing some of the children grow from babies and now 'graduate' from AVWA as they take the exciting step to Kindy is a true testament to parents’ dedication.
You parents are AMAZING!! 💛 I’m so grateful to be part of your journey and look forward to continuing to support my families in 2026.

Teletherapy is so empowering for parents!
We just spent one hour on a teletherapy session -playing with rocks!
It is rewarding observing, guiding and coaching a parent while they play with their child in their own home.
Our teletherapy session was with a bilingual family-following the child’s lead and playing in the backyard. So many new words and concepts used by the parent and awesome to hear the child use the new words by the end of the session. So much fun for everyone! Thank you for having me!

Love watching babies and parents playing peek a boo! Great for name calling to recognize names!

Playing peek-a-boo isn’t just a game; it’s a developmental milestone in action! Through play, babies learn critical social skills, build trust, and strengthen their understanding of the world. With each round of peek-a-boo, you’re nurturing their language, emotional, and social development.

AVWA teletherapy
It is great doing AVWA tele therapy with families who live far away. I am able to observe the family in their home and guide and coach parents without the child knowing. This makes the session very natural for the child and empowering for parents.

Good to read evidence of the importance of turn taking -something that my AVWA families always focus on!

MIT cognitive scientists discovered that engaging in conversation with children can alter their brain development, making these back-and-forth exchanges more essential for language acquisition than merely increasing vocabulary exposure.

Great to support an Australian family providing pilot caps. It is a tricky time when children don’t want to wear their devices. But as adults we know how important it is to have consistent access to grow their brains -to learn to listen and talk.
