MEET THE TEAM: Farrukh Zubair, On-Site Pharmacist at Karingal Green 💚

Safe and effective medication management is an important part of quality aged care, and Farrukh works closely with residents, families, nursing staff and the wider care team to help make it happen.

From regular medication reviews and supporting new admissions to answering everyday questions, Farrukh helps residents and families better understand medications and feel confident about their treatment plans.

For Farrukh, pharmacy is also about people.

“I love being a pharmacist because it allows me to make a real difference in people's lives.”

When he’s not supporting residents, Farrukh enjoys spending time with his young family, exercising, catching up with friends and, when the occasion calls for it, a good pizza!

What a wild and wonderful day out!

Our residents from Leighton Aged Care Home traded the ordinary for the extraordinary on our latest adventure.

First, we took a fascinating trip to the Museum of Taxidermy where we got up close and personal with some incredible creatures - thankfully, none of them minded too much as, of course, they were stuffed.

It was a wonderfully unique experience that sparked plenty of laughs, storytelling, and "well, you don't see that every day" moments.

Afterwards, we headed over to Tomato Lake for a beautiful picnic lunch in the sunshine. We enjoyed the fresh air, watched the (very much alive!) ducks waddle by, and shared a lovely meal together.

A warm welcome to the newest members of the Hall & Prior family! 💙

Sir James Terrace Residential Aged Care Home in Deception Bay has officially joined Hall & Prior, marking an exciting milestone as our first aged care home in Queensland.

The 77-bed home is known for its warm, welcoming environment and commitment to personalised care, with residents supported by an experienced team and a wide range of lifestyle, allied health and care services.

With Sir James Terrace joining the Group, Hall & Prior now has 42 homes across Australia, supported by more than 4,000 caring professionals.

We’re delighted to welcome the residents, families and team at Sir James Terrace and look forward to this exciting new chapter together.

Birthday wishes continue @ Freshwater Bay 🎂

Last week, our Freshwater Bay team surprised Director of Nursing Devi with a special birthday celebration out in Fremantle, to show her just how much she is loved and appreciated by all.

We started the night with a game of mini golf a first-time experience for most of us, including Devi! But somehow, she managed to come out on top and win her game with her teammates!

We then headed to Spice Market for a delicious staff dinner, followed by a beautiful cake fit for a princess.

It was such a fun night filled with laughter, friendship and plenty of special memories and hopefully a night that made Devi feel just a little younger than she is!

Thank you to everyone who came together and helped make Devi’s birthday a special night to remember. What a wonderful team!

And now, this week, Devi is off to Singapore to celebrate her actual birthday -
we wish you a truly wonderful birthday, Devi, filled with love, joy, happiness and plenty of unforgettable moments. We hope you have the most amazing time celebrating and make even more beautiful memories to treasure.

Let's go to . . . Hungary (without leaving our armchairs) 🇭🇺

No passport? No worries! Our Braemar Cooinda residents travelled all the way to Hungary during this month’s Armchair Travel adventure.

They explored stunning museums and beautiful churches through vibrant videos, enjoyed magnificent orchestra and classical music performances, and discovered the colourful traditions of Hungarian folk dancing.

We also learnt about Hungary’s famous stuffed cabbage dish, Töltött Káposzta. The room was filled with excitement as everyone proudly waved their Hungarian flags and joined in the fun.

What a wonderful cultural journey!

Casino Day at Villa D 🎲

What a fun-filled day at our very first Casino Day here at Villa Dalmacia.

Our residents enjoyed Human Slot Machine, Higher or Lower, Chase the Ace and Card Bingo - with plenty of laughs, cheers and prizes along the way!

Our residents had also spent the past few weeks creating the decorations and props, making the day extra special. Their hard work certainly paid off.

A fantastic day of fun, laughter and winning!

Our Concorde residents embraced the festive spirit at our Christmas in July BBQ, enjoying a wonderful afternoon filled with delicious food, laughter, and great company.

Arts and crafts @ Rockingham ✂️

The therapy team at Rockingham have been doing some different art projects with our residents.

This month they have started painting some pots to plant some spring flowers in September.

Two of our very arty residents have exceeded all expectations so we will have a display when they all have plants in them.

Royal good wishes for Paul's big day 🎂

Braemar Cooinda resident Paul Freeman celebrated his 100th birthday today, surrounded by family and friends who gathered to mark this incredible milestone.

Adding to the occasion was a special royal visit, delivering a birthday card from His Majesty King Charles III.

What a truly memorable celebration and a wonderful way to round out August here at Cooinda!
