DO'S and DON'TS
After a remedial massage, it’s normal to feel relaxed, slightly tender, thirsty, or tired for a day or two. These do's and don’ts can help your recovery and get the most benefit from the treatment.
# Do
* Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
* Rest if your body feels tired.
* Do light movement or gentle stretching.
* Use heat or a warm shower if muscles feel tight.
* Pay attention to how your body responds and note any unusual pain.
* Follow any stretches or advice your therapist gave you.
* Expect mild soreness for 24–48 hours, especially after deep work.
# Don’t
* Do intense exercise or heavy lifting immediately after.
* Drink excessive alcohol, as it can worsen dehydration and inflammation.
* Ignore severe or sharp pain — that is not normal.
* Have another heavy massage treatment too soon unless advised.
* Sit in one position for hours afterward.
* Skip hydration or meals after treatment.
# Seek medical advice if you notice
* Severe pain
* Significant swelling or bruising
* Numbness or tingling
* Symptoms lasting more than a couple of days
For most people, recovery is straightforward and they feel improved mobility and reduced tension within 1–2 days.
