Seeking an Occupational Therapist – NDIS Access Evidence Support (Perth/WA)
We currently supporting a client from a refugee background who is in the process of accessing the NDIS and requires updated supporting evidence for her access request.
The participant has a permanent physical disability which substantially reduces her functional capacity, particularly within the mobility domain. She experiences significant mobility limitations, reduced endurance, difficulty walking long distances, and requires assistive supports to safely mobilise and access the community.
A Functional Capacity Assessment was previously completed approximately two years ago, confirming the permanency of the participant’s condition and the significant impact on her daily functioning. However, due to delays within the access process, the NDIA has now requested updated evidence.
The participant comes from a low-income refugee background and faces additional barriers due to limited English proficiency and difficulty fully understanding or navigating complex systems independently. We are therefore trying to source support that is both compassionate and culturally responsive.
We are hoping to connect with an Occupational Therapist who may be able to:
• Review existing NDIS evidence and provide guidance
• Complete updated functional evidence/reporting if required
• Potentially discuss flexible payment arrangements pending the outcome of the participant’s NDIS access decision
If you have experience with NDIS access assessments, physical disability, culturally diverse communities, or can recommend someone suitable, please feel free to reach out privately.
Thank you for your support and kindness.
