Skills 2 Talk Speech Pathology Services provide assessment and treatment for children aged 0-12 years, using approaches supported by current research. At Skills 2 Talk Speech Pathology we appreciate that children are more confident in familiar environments and as a result we provide home based services. Our therapists come to work with your child within your home, which allows us to provide advice and suggestions that can be easily carried out within your daily routine. Sessions may also be provided at daycare and school if this is appropriate for your child. We can provide assessment and treatment for many areas including:
o Receptive and/or Expressive Language
Delays
o Articulation and Speech Sound Delays
o Feeding and Oro-motor Difficulties
o Literacy Difficulties
o Assessment and advice for Alternative and
Augmentative Communication Systems
(e.g. Key Word Sign, books, boards,
devices)
o Referrals for Language Development
Centres

This AAC Awareness Month, let's explore the wonderful variety of communication methods that make up AAC:

No-Tech AAC 🙌 Gestures, facial expressions, sign language, body language, and eye gaze

Low-Tech/Lite-Tech AAC 📋 Communication boards, picture cards, printed symbols, communication books, and visual schedules

High-Tech AAC 📱 Speech-generating devices, communication apps, and tablets with AAC software

The amazing thing? Many people use a combination of these methods! AAC is about finding what works for each person in different situations.
