At Bethanie Perth Central Social Centre, a recent outing to Fremantle gave clients the chance to see the city from a new perspective 🎡

From the heights of the Ferris wheel, they enjoyed 360-degree views across Fremantle, taking in the Fishing Boat Harbour, the city skyline and beyond. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience one of Perth’s iconic destination.

Can’t help falling in love with a night like this!🎤💙

Bethanie Beachside Aged Care Home recently welcomed residents and families for a memorable Elvis Presley concert, bringing together more than 60 residents and over 30 family members for an evening filled with music, laughter and connection.

From classic Elvis favourites to themed decorations, refreshments and activities, the event transformed the space into a vibrant celebration of nostalgia and joy. Residents sang along, shared memories and enjoyed quality time with loved ones.

A huge thank you to our Therapy team for their incredible planning and coordination, and to our care, hospitality and support teams whose dedication helped make the evening such a success.

Meet Lionel - Grounds & Gardens Supervisor

For the past two years, Lionel has helped shape and maintain the outdoor spaces across Bethanie, drawing on more than 30 years of experience in horticulture, turf management and landscaping.

What Lionel enjoys most is working alongside Bethanie’s Property Operations, gardening and maintenance teams to create welcoming environments for residents, clients, families and staff. Whether it’s a garden makeover, fresh planting or simply sharing gardening ideas with residents, Lionel takes pride in seeing outdoor spaces flourish and hearing the positive feedback that follows.

Happy 100th Birthday, Bernie! 🎉

On 21 August, Bernie was joined by friends, family and staff at Bethanie Kingsley Aged Care Home to celebrate his 100th birthday.

From humble beginnings as a sheet metal apprentice, Bernie went on to co-found Metalux Industries, helping grow the business from a small workshop in Osborne Park into an internationally recognised manufacturer exporting Western Australian innovation around the world. His patented ball-bearing drawer runner became the foundation of a thriving business that employed hundreds of people and left a lasting mark on local industry.

Along the way, Bernie overcame challenges, including a serious factory fire in 1960, and remained dedicated to his people, his craft and his customers. Known for walking the factory floor each morning, Bernie never forgot his roots and believed the secret to success was "loyal and dedicated people, a good quality product and consistent customer service."

Behind every chapter of Bernie's story was the support of his wife, Nancy, and their four children. As Bernie celebrates a century of life, we reflect on a journey defined by hard work, resilience, innovation and family. His legacy continues to inspire all who know his story.

Clients from Bethanie South Metro Social Centre and Bethanie Eaton Social Centre recently enjoyed a day out in Nannup, sharing lunch at Nannup Brewing Co before exploring the Nannup Flower Festival. It was a wonderful day of good food, sunshine and great company. ☀️
