Creativity and connection were at the heart of Spiritual Care Week at Bethanie Waters Aged Care Home. 🎨 💫

An art exhibition and morning tea brought people together to share creative works and enjoy conversation and storytelling. Residents from Bethanie Waters Aged Care Home and Retirement Village were among those who contributed to the exhibition.

From painting and poetry to quilting and dollmaking, the works reflected the many ways people can express what matters to them.

A special interactive artwork also invited residents to pause, reflect and share what they’re grateful for, a meaningful way to recognise the importance of spiritual care.

To honour Spiritual Care Week and this year’s Kintsugi theme, our Bethanie Perth Central Social Centre clients came together for a morning of creativity, connection and reflection.

As they repaired broken crockery with gold, clients and staff shared stories from their own life journeys, reflecting on the experiences that have shaped them.

A beautiful reminder that our cracks don’t diminish our worth. They’re part of what makes each of us unique, precious and valued. 💛

Meet Rachael - Chaplain

For the past six years, Rachael has supported Bethanie residents, families and staff with compassion, dignity and understanding, drawing on her unique background in both speech pathology and pastoral care.

As a Chaplain, Rachael has a remarkable gift for helping people feel seen, heard and valued, particularly during some of life's most challenging moments.

As Rachael reflects: “There are stories that can’t have a happy ending and things that can’t be fixed. But as a Chaplain, when you give someone your attention, and you bear witness to their story, they know that they are seen and they matter.”

A special guest with a very impressive fringe stopped by Bethanie Fields Aged Care Home. 🐮

Residents were delighted to meet some friendly Highland cows, stopping for pats, chats and plenty of photos along the way. There was lots of laughter as everyone admired those famous fluffy locks and got up close to our gentle visitor.

Sometimes it’s the unexpected moments that spark the best conversations, and this visit certainly gave everyone something to smile about.
