Many women go through perimenopause and menopause without knowing what’s happening to their bodies. Knowing what to expect and what to ask for helps you be heard, and get the care you deserve.

One of WA’s leading menopause GPs, our very own Dr Simone Altaf, put together this checklist of what to ask your GP – because your first perimenopause appointment can set the tone for the care that follows. 💗

Can we all take a moment for our fabulous health promotor Maxine, and her outfit!! 🎀💖

(Yes it earned her celebrity status at our favourite café French Resistance Pâtisserie Northbridge this week)

Keep yourself and your community safe in three simple steps, because early detection saves lives:

🩷 Look at and feel your breasts every month and see your GP if you notice changes.
🩷 For women aged 40+, book your free breast screen every two years with BreastScreen WA.
🩷 Tell your sister, mum, aunty, colleague – women's health knowledge exists in group chats, phone calls and kitchen tables. Share the word to keep the women in your lives healthy.

Sending so much love to everyone impacted by breast cancer this month.

Knowing you need mental health support is a big step – and it's never easy.

In the past two years, 1 in 5 WA women took that step – but the barriers in WA stopped them from getting it.

It costs too much. They can't find suitable appointments or providers. And they are ashamed or afraid of being judged.

On , we're sharing what women told us they need, and what has to change so when women reach out for support, they can get it.
