Homestyle Point Cook Manor residents, Charles and Eric recently visited Point Cook P-9 College to take part in the school’s Mathex competition. This was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community and show support during Education Week.

Working together they were required to answer a range of math questions and enjoyed the challenges that they were presented with. They were supported by a student helper who assisted by delivering their answers to the panel.

Following the competition, Charles and the Point Cook Manor staff presented a thank you hamper to the school in appreciation of their hospitality and inclusion in the event.

Residents delivered heartfelt speeches to thank and recognise the nurses and care team for the compassion, dedication, and support they show every day. It was a wonderful celebration filled with meaningful and memorable moments together.

Homestyle Point Cook Manor, celebrated Mother’s Day with many special moments shared together.

Residents enjoyed a relaxing spa day, a lovely lunch with families filled with smiles and quality time, and a fun happy hour full of music, laughter, and happiness. Residents were also delighted to receive a special Mother’s Day gift to mark the occasion.

It was a wonderful week celebrating the amazing mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers who bring so much love, care, and strength to those around them.

Homestyle Point Cook Manor came alive with a week full of Easter fun, bringing everyone together in a warm and festive atmosphere.

Residents were delighted by a cheerful visit from the Easter Bunny, who hopped around spreading smiles and handing out Easter treats. The celebrations continued with a visit from the Palm Lake Resort Choir, whose beautiful Easter songs were uplifting and captured the spirit of the season. Hot cross buns with butter and honey were a delicious treat that was savored by all.

A week filled with connection and plenty of Easter cheer.

Residents from Homestyle Point Cook Manor enjoyed a beautiful morning cooking session in the garden.

For morning tea, residents made a delicious sage butter pasta using herbs picked fresh from the garden. The autumn weather was perfect, and the wonderful aroma filled the air as everyone joined in to help with the cooking.

Residents enjoyed helping stir the butter and watching the pasta come together. To finish, the pasta was topped with cheese and enjoyed outside in the sunshine.

Cooking is always therapeutic, and spending time cooking outdoors in the autumn garden made the morning even more special.

Residents at Homestyle Point Cook Manor, gathered in one of the home’s most loved spaces – the dedicated cooking room.

With a fully equipped kitchen, residents rolled up their sleeves and worked together to prepare homemade meat pies from scratch. The cooking room is a special place where residents can continue doing something many have loved their whole lives, cooking, baking and sharing their skills with others.

More than just preparing a meal, the space brings people together. Around the table, residents shared stories, reminisced about favourite family recipes, and even gave their own little cooking masterclasses.

After all the preparation, everyone enjoyed sitting down together for lunch to share the delicious pies and the wonderful sense of connection that comes from cooking and dining together.
