👁️ If you have optical extras with your health fund, they may expire at the end of the financial year.

That means any unused benefits could be lost, so it’s a great time to look after your eyes and tick it off your list.

Every health fund is different, so be sure to check whether yours resets on 30 June or the calendar year.

We’re here when you’re ready, so book in and make the most of what you’ve got.

June is Child Vision Awareness Month.

Clear vision plays an important role in how children learn, read, and engage at school but vision issues aren’t always obvious.

Some signs to look out for include squinting, frequent eye rubbing, headaches, or sitting very close to screens.

A comprehensive eye exam can help identify any concerns early and provide your child with the best possible support.

If it’s been a while since their last check, this is a good time to book in.

Migraines can affect more than just your head 👁️

They can also affect your vision, causing symptoms such as flashing lights, blind spots, or blurred vision (often called an “ocular migraine”).

While these changes are usually temporary, they can feel unsettling.

If it happens:
• Rest in a dark, quiet space
• Stay hydrated
• Speak to your doctor if it’s happening regularly

If something doesn’t feel right with your vision, always get it checked.

Too much screen time? Your eyes can feel it 👀

Staring at devices all day can lead to digital eye strain - think tired eyes, headaches, blurred vision, and dryness.

A few simple ways to ease it:
• Follow the 20-20-20 rule (every 20 mins, look away for 20 secs)
• Take regular breaks and move your body
• Adjust your screen brightness + text size
• Stay hydrated
• Try blue light filters if needed

Just because the colder weather is here doesn't mean you can stash away your sunglasses!

Winter is just around the corner and protecting your eyes from the winter sun is just as important as in the summer months. Here's why:

🌨️ UV Radiation: Even on cloudy days, harmful UV rays can pe*****te through the atmosphere, increasing your risk of eye damage and conditions like cataracts and macular degeneration.

🌬️ Wind and Cold: Winter winds can cause dry eyes and irritation, especially if you wear contact lenses. Sunglasses act as a barrier against wind and help keep your eyes moist and comfortable.

👓 Stylish Protection: Our winter collection of sunglasses offers both style and UV protection. From trendy frames to polarised lenses, we have everything you need to keep your eyes safe and stylish this winter.

It affects the macula, the part of the eye responsible for central vision, impacting tasks like reading, driving, and recognising faces.
