It is so heart breaking to hear the stories coming out of Nepal - Tibet border. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to every families & animals affected, stranded or grieving because of the devastating floods in the Nepal - Tibet border region. I would like to share one heartbreaking story about a Tibetan woman that I heard from a friend at Voice of Tibet.
“It feels like a bad dream. If they are dead, I cannot see their bodies; if they are alive, I cannot reach them.”
A Tibetan woman who arrived in Kathmandu from Rasuwa just two days before the disaster shares the agony of not knowing what has happened to her relatives. Her greatest worry is her pregnant sister, whom she has been unable to contact.
In the little conversation they managed to have immediately after the tragedy, her sister told her that she had watched her in-laws being swept away by the flood. She also saw the hydropower station where her husband worked being swept away.
She is now left in a painful limbo, with no way of knowing whether her loved ones survived or were swept away.
May all those who have lost loved ones find strength, may the missing return safely, and may help reach everyone still waiting to be rescued.
