Today is R U OK? Day.

Sometimes, one simple question can make a real difference: “Are you OK?”

If someone you know seems quieter than usual, withdrawn, overwhelmed or simply not themselves, take the time to check in. You don’t need to have all the answers — listening and being there can be a powerful first step.

And if you’re the one who isn’t feeling OK, you don’t have to manage it alone.

Your GP can be a good place to start. They can listen, help you work through what’s happening and connect you with further support if you need it.

Today, check in with someone around you — and check in with yourself too.

Ask R U OK? Any Day.

It’s Women’s Health Week — a good reminder to put your health back on the list.

Women are often busy looking after everyone else. This week, take a moment to check in on you.

Depending on your age and circumstances, that might mean:
• Booking an overdue cervical screening test
• Checking your blood pressure, cholesterol or diabetes risk
• Talking about contraception or reproductive health
• Getting support with periods, pelvic pain or endometriosis
• Discussing perimenopause or menopause symptoms
• Checking your breast health
• Talking about sleep, stress or mental health
• Or simply booking that appointment you’ve been putting off

You don’t need to wait until something feels wrong to see your GP.

This Women’s Health Week, make your health a priority.

Did you know that Australia ran some of the world's earliest remote medical consultations by radio, connecting doctors with families living hundreds of kilometres from the nearest town? Care from a distance has deep roots here, and today telehealth carries that idea into everyday life. A video or phone consultation lets you speak with a clinician from home, the office or wherever the day takes you, covering a surprising amount of everyday health along the way. It is a genuine help for busy families, people juggling work, and anyone who would rather skip the trip across town. The team at Core Medical can let you know when a telehealth booking is a good fit for what you need. Book a telehealth appointment online today.
