May Highlights at Park Village

May was filled with fun, connection, and community at Park Village!

Residents enjoyed spending time with families and young children through our intergenerational playground, strengthening meaningful connections across generations. Other highlights included a Rock 'n' Roll themed lunch with live dancers, delicious burgers, chips and hot dogs, and bus outings to Para Hills Community Club where residents caught up with friends from Prospect.

Regular activities such as bingo, exercise classes, church services, arts and crafts, carpet bowls, wellness walks, and resident meetings kept everyone active, engaged, and connected.

We look forward to another exciting month ahead in June! 💙

Recently, we hosted our very first Intergenerational Playgroup session, “Teddy Bear’s Tea Party” at Park Village 🧸☕💛

It was a beautiful morning filled with storytelling, laughter, creativity and connection as residents and children came together to share special moments.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially Fiona for creating such a welcoming space, and Sophie from Playgroup SA for supporting the program.

We’re proud to now offer Intergenerational Playgroups across four of our sites, with Magill joining next term! Contact your local CCH to find out more about an Intergenerational Playgroup near you! https://www.claytonhomes.com.au/contact/

This National Volunteer Week, we celebrate the incredible volunteers who bring kindness, compassion and connection to our communities every day. 💙
A special thank you to Tessa, Tony and Antonietta, three of the many wonderful volunteers across Clayton Church Homes.
Tessa supports residents through church services, hymn sing-alongs and meaningful conversations, Tony is a valued volunteer whose wife was previously a resident at CCH Magill. Following her passing, Tony chose to give back to the facility that cared for his wife during her illness, demonstrating remarkable generosity and gratitude. While Antonietta brings joy through the weekly nail salon and Italian Social Club activities.
Their warmth, care and dedication make a meaningful difference to residents’ wellbeing and quality of life.

Today, we proudly recognise and celebrate the incredible nurses who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every single day. 💙

On International Nurses Day, we thank our dedicated nursing teams for their compassion, professionalism, kindness and unwavering commitment to care.

From the comforting conversations to the clinical expertise and support they provide, our nurses are at the heart of everything we do. Their care helps create a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for residents, families and colleagues alike.

To all nurses — thank you for the care you give, the lives you touch and the difference you make every day.

Residents and staff at CCH Prospect Manor hosted a surprise baby shower for Eva, our Exercise Physiology Team Leader. We all enjoyed delicious food prepared fresh on site by the chef, including scrumptious home made cupcakes with brilliant blue icing. Games, fun and lots of laughter was shared as we wish Eva all the best with her new adventure of motherhood.

Food plays a vital role in supporting health and wellbeing. At CCH, we take this responsibility seriously—creating meals that not only nourish the body, but also bring people together, spark conversation and create moments of connection each day.

Hayley, our incredible Hospitality Manager for Woodside Lodge and Summerhill, has been instrumental in delivering varied, nourishing and exciting meals for CCH Hill's residents. At today’s Food Focus meeting, residents had high praise for the breakfast offerings, including freshly cooked eggs each morning alongside continental options. They also appreciated the multiple choices available at morning and afternoon tea, as well as the flexibility at dinner—whether enjoying a traditional “meat and three veg” or choosing something a little different.

Menus are thoughtfully designed in consultation with residents and dietitians to ensure the highest quality, nutrition and variety possible and all food is prepared and cooked on site to ensure utmost freshness.
