Women (and bubs) across many generations and walks of life sitting around Maggie Dent 's wise words at Nurturing Women Through Every Stage of Motherhood and delicious food !

I love listening to other women's stories because we all exist in unity and no experience exists in isolation from another one. Despite not being a bio mum, i could relate to the stories and moments of joy and challenges that come with parenting, including parenting oneself.

I don't share private family moments/pics on social media but i do spend too much time scrolling and comparing 🙃 Maggie reminds us to stop judging one another and instead, to come together.

Most importantly, research (and Maggie) tells us that if we are decent parents 30% of the time, then our kids will be ok 💗

Today i landed in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) for my final "sim block" (intensive lab training for my midwifery degree). 13 years ago to this day, I arrived in Meanjin (Brisbane) and recognised I had landed home. Thank you Australia for having me all this time.
Also i cut all my cuy hair and letting my natural straight hair to take over. It feels good to look like myself again 🪷

Yes, we are a clinic with a multidisciplinary team of 17 women.
Most importantly, we want to facilitate connection via mothers’/women’s circles, workshops and events.
And a place to come and be.
This is the first of its kind.
I have been part of it since the beginning and had my 1st client in January this year. Ciara and Kathleen (C&K!), our 2 midwives who started the Village, look really well after us all. Being self-employed for so many years, I have really appreciated the way C & K have made me feel included in the team.
I am really excited for our upcoming workshops, the next one being next Sunday, July 19th, “Birth Art Workshop” with Chloe.
And for our movie screenings. The 1st one coming up on September 17th with Allowed to birth.
Joy runs womens’ circles every second Saturday. She holds a warm and nurturing space and I highly recommend to join her circles. Help us build the Village, come for a hug, join us for a cuppa, flick us a message if you have any questions!

Well this was a bit of a pinch-me moment 🥹🥰

Today we had a surprise visit from Maggie Dent…yes, THE Maggie Dent.

For those who may not know, Maggie is often called the godmother of parenting in Australia, supporting families, educators and communities with her incredible wisdom for decades.

We had the absolute honour of welcoming her into The Village, sharing our space, picking her brain and having a beautiful conversation about motherhood, parenting and the importance of community.

Just another reminder of what this space is about - women supporting women.

Moments like this make our hearts very full 💜
