Language in the disability sector moves fast - and the words we use every day directly shape how we see, respect, and support the people around us.
That’s why we’ve created our brand-new Neurodiversity Dictionary!
As a team working on the frontlines of support, having a clear, up-to-date, and shared language isn't just nice to have, it's essential for delivering best-practice care. This dictionary bridges the gap between old clinical terms and modern, neuro-affirming concepts, helping us move away from outdated "deficits" and focus on real-world impact, accessibility, and respect.
From understanding concepts like Interoception and Monotropism to honouring preferred terms like Identity-First Language, this tool keeps our team aligned, our documentation respectful, and our spaces inclusive.
