Acne can be influenced by several factors, and active breakouts and established acne scarring may require different approaches.

At Dr Luci Clinic, treatment planning may begin with a medical assessment to consider the type and severity of the acne, relevant health factors and treatments that have already been tried.

Depending on the individual, an appropriate plan may include:

• A tailored home skincare routine
• Medical acne management
• Omnilux LED light therapy
• Procedures intended to address skin texture or scarring
• Review and adjustment as the skin responds

Scar-focused procedures may not be appropriate while acne is active or uncontrolled. This is why assessment and treatment sequencing matter.

There is no single treatment that suits every person, and results vary. Our aim is to develop a considered plan based on your skin, history and treatment goals.

Pigmentation, redness, texture changes and other skin concerns can have many different causes.

At Dr Luci Clinic, our team takes a considered approach to the skin before recommending treatment. During an assessment, we look at the condition of the skin, the concerns you would like addressed and whether anything requires further medical review.

Our non-medical team does not diagnose skin cancer. However, if an area appears unusual or concerning, treatment can be paused and an in-house referral arranged with Dr Lucia Saliba for a skin cancer check and medical assessment.

This integrated approach means cosmetic and medical concerns can be considered within the same clinic, with treatment recommendations made only after the skin has been appropriately assessed.

If you have noticed a new, changing, bleeding or non-healing spot, it is important to arrange a medical skin check.

Not every skin concern is purely cosmetic.

At Dr Luci Clinic, your care takes place within a doctor-led clinical framework. The clinic is led by Dr Lucia Saliba, a senior consultant breast and general surgeon, supported by a team trained to provide treatments within their individual roles and scope.

Depending on your concern, your plan may bring together medical assessment, evidence-informed skincare and appropriate non-medical treatments.

We consider:

• What may be contributing to the concern
• Whether treatment is clinically appropriate
• Which options may suit your skin and medical history
• The limitations, risks and expected recovery
• Whether medical review is needed before treatment begins

Sometimes the most appropriate recommendation is a combination of treatments. Sometimes it is to delay treatment, choose a different approach or seek further medical assessment.

That is what doctor-led care means to us: thoughtful assessment before treatment.

A visible skin concern is often only part of the picture.

During your consultation, we're assessing many factors that influence treatment decisions, including:

• Skin quality
• Pigmentation
• Blood vessels
• Collagen support
• Skin thickness
• Healing capacity
• Medical history

Understanding these factors helps us determine not only what treatment may be appropriate, but also when it should be performed.

Medicine isn't simply about treating what you see.

It's about understanding why it's there.

In cosmetic medicine, there isn't always a single appointment that achieves every goal.

The safest and most effective approach is often a carefully planned journey.

Sometimes we recommend waiting.

Sometimes we recommend preparing your skin before moving to more advanced procedures.

Sometimes the best decision is not to treat at all.

Taking the time to understand your skin allows us to develop a treatment plan that reflects your goals while respecting your skin's health.

Because good outcomes begin with good decisions.

Many people focus on the procedure.

We focus on the skin.

Preparing your skin before advanced treatments can be just as important as the treatment itself.

Depending on your individual needs, preparation may include improving hydration, supporting the skin barrier, reducing inflammation, or introducing treatments that encourage healthier collagen function before more intensive procedures.

A personalised approach allows us to treat the skin, not simply perform a procedure.

Because healthier skin is often better prepared for recovery and long-term skin maintenance.

Have you ever been told you "need" a particular treatment after only a few minutes?

At Dr. Luci Clinic, we believe your skin deserves more than a quick recommendation.

Every consultation is designed to understand the bigger picture, including:

• Your skin concerns and goals
• Previous treatments
• Medical history
• Lifestyle factors
• Skin quality and healing potential

Only then can we recommend a treatment plan that is appropriate for you.

Sometimes that plan involves advanced laser technology.

Sometimes it begins with improving skin health first.

The consultation isn't the first step before treatment.

It is the most important part of treatment.

Last week, Dr Lucia Saliba attended the Tour De Cure Annual Snow Ball. Tour De Cure raises significant amounts of money in aid of cancer research and this has resulted in very many cancer breakthrough treatments to date. As a consultant Breast Cancer and General Surgeon, this cause is very dear to Dr Saliba's heart. She was accompanied by fellow Consultant Breast Cancer Surgeon, Dr Lynne Mann and senior consultant Anesthetist Dr Yung Tran

A couple of weeks ago, the team at Dr Luci clinic and Dr Saliba supported a truly wonderful milestone, the 25th birthday of EP Exercise Physiology, Caringbah. EP's founder, Brett Butterworth threw a party to celebrate and was joined by Australian Olympic Gold medalist, Duncan Armstrong. Dr Saliba presented a talk on ageing and changes to the human body through the effects of time, and some of the areas you could help slow the ageing process, particularly through weight loss, and muscle strengthening. A fabulous event for the 60 or so attending.
