Honestly, trying to sleep propped up (and not flat on my side) was the hardest part of the last 24 hours! For full treatment details, keep reading-

For my treatment the team at Clinica Lase performed a full-face fractional CO₂ resurfacing treatment using the DEKA Tetra Pro, including the upper and lower eyelids with internal ocular shields in place. Treating the periocular region was my primary focus, as this area is starting to show some of the earliest signs of ageing due to its thin skin and constant movement. The use of ocular shields allowed safe treatment right up to the lash line, targeting the upper eyelids and infraorbital skin, areas that many resurfacing devices are unable to adequately reach.

The entire treatment was performed using DEKA Pulse mode. Compared with HP mode, DEKA Pulse delivers a longer pulse duration, producing a greater thermal effect within the dermis while still achieving controlled fractional ablation. This makes it particularly well suited for stimulating neocollagenesis and dermal remodelling when the primary goals are improving fine lines, skin texture, skin quality and tissue tightening, particularly in delicate areas such as the eyelids.

Treatment parameters were customised across different regions of the face according to skin thickness, anatomical location and treatment goals to achieve a consistent clinical endpoint while maintaining an appropriate safety profile.

As expected following fractional CO₂ resurfacing, erythema, oedema and subsequent bronzing and desquamation are part of the normal healing process. Whilst there will be visible improvements once re-epithelialisation is complete, collagen remodelling continues for several months, with progressive improvement in fine lines, texture, skin firmness and overall skin quality.

While serious complications are very rare, all aesthetic treatments come with some risk, many have expected downtime, and every now and then, you’ll find yourself with UNEXPECTED downtime.

The only thing you really need to worry about is if your injector knows what they’re dealing with and how to treat it.

The post care instructions we provide you are always important as they help minimise the potential for any adverse events, so make sure you always have a second read when you get home.

As a member of the Advisory Committee for Instant Cosmetics I was lucky enough to be invited to a training session focused on weight loss medication associated changes to the face and skin.

It was a fascinating session, and it really got me thinking… Even though I have many patients taking weight loss medications, we don’t tend see too many of them struggling with the common skin changes in my clinics. I started thinking about why that could be, and I believe it’s because we’re already so heavily focused on skin health as a matter of our standard protocols, we’ve been able to prevent some of those early skin changes people see with rapid weight loss.

To say I’m honoured to have been invited to be a member on the very first National Clinical Advisory Board for would be the understatement of the century.

Today was the most valuable aesthetic meeting I’ve attended in years (maybe ever). This group of incredible women were handpicked for what they bring to the table, and wow do they bring a lot!

This was collaboration on another level and I’m beyond proud to have a voice in where our industry is heading and ultimately, the safety of patients everywhere (not just mine)!!

Not to get too philosophical or anything (cringe) but “It’s a privilege to be exhausted from a job you once dreamed of doing” - a beautiful patient of mine reminded me of this sentiment yesterday.

And it’s been a week! I had the most amazing time presenting and moderating last weekend at one of the industry’s biggest and best events of the year. Immediately after, I jumped on a plane for a busy week in Tamworth - quite literally, hundreds of patients have come through our doors this week. The whole team have worked their butts off - including our senior injector, Wayne, who made a two-day cameo! 👯

Am I a little tired? Yes! But have I had the BEST week with my team and patients! Also yes!
