🎉 BIG NEWS FROM DAWN SERVICES! 🎉

We’re excited to finally announce that DAWN Services is now registered to provide Specialist Support Coordination! 💙

This means we can now support NDIS participants who are Agency Managed and funded for Level 3 – Specialist Support Coordination.

Our Support Coordination team now has two highly experienced team members who can provide Specialist Support Coordination, bringing extensive knowledge, experience and a strong understanding of complex support needs.

💙 What does this mean for participants?

Specialist Support Coordination can help participants navigate more complex situations, coordinate multiple services and providers, manage challenges and risks, and work towards greater choice, control and independence.

We’re incredibly excited to expand our Support Coordination services and continue providing person-centred, experienced and dedicated support to the people we work alongside.

NDIS FUNDING PERIODS
What Do They Really Mean?

Your NDIS plan might show funding in periods instead of giving you access to the full amount at once.

But what does that actually mean for you?

💰 Does my funding get reduced?

No.

Funding periods do not automatically mean you have less funding.

Instead, your plan funding may be divided into smaller amounts that become available at different times throughout your plan.

Think of it like putting your yearly budget into several envelopes.
You can only use the money in each envelope during its funding period.

📅 What is a funding period?

A funding period is a set amount of your NDIS funding that is available for you to use during a specific period of time.

For example:

Your plan: $40,000 for 12 months

Instead of having the entire $40,000 available from day one, the NDIS may divide it into:

➡️ 3 months: $10,000
➡️ 3 months: $10,000
➡️ 3 months: $10,000
➡️ 3 months: $10,000

Your total plan funding is still $40,000.

🔄 What happens if I don't spend it all?

Generally, unused funding can roll over into the next funding period within the same plan.

For example:

Period 1
💰 $10,000 available
💳 $8,000 used
➡️ $2,000 remains

That $2,000 may be available in the next funding period, alongside the next amount of funding.

⚠️ Can I use next period's funding early?

Usually, no.

If you have used all the funding available in your current period, you generally cannot simply access the funding from your next period early.

This means budgeting throughout your plan is really important.

🧩 Is every support funded the same way?

Not necessarily.

Different funding categories and supports can have different arrangements.

Your NDIS plan will tell you how your funding has been allocated and what funding periods apply.

👀 What should I be checking?

Make sure you know:

📌 How much funding is available now
📌 When your current funding period ends
📌 When your next funding becomes available
📌 How much you have already spent
📌 Whether unused funding has rolled over
📌 Whether your current funding will cover your planned supports

Funding periods are about WHEN you can use your funding — not simply about HOW MUCH funding you have.

Understanding your funding periods can help you avoid running out of funding before your next period begins.

🚧 Traffic Alert – Townsville 500 Road Closures 🏁

With the NTI Townsville 500 just around the corner, we’d like to remind our clients, staff and visitors that road closures and traffic delays may affect access to our office at 647 Flinders Street, Townsville.

Please allow extra travel time when attending appointments, as a number of roads throughout the City, South Townsville and surrounding areas will be impacted.

📅 Key dates:

• Road closures and traffic restrictions are already in place
• Additional circuit closures commence from 6pm Friday 3 July
• Traffic impacts will continue throughout the event period

📢 Important NDIS Pricing Update – Effective 1 July 2026

The NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL) have now transitioned to the new NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026–27, bringing several important changes for participants, providers, and support workers.

Key updates include:

✅ Standard disability support worker rates increase by approximately 4.76–4.77%
✅ High-intensity disability support worker rates increase by approximately 4.75–4.76%
✅ Sleepover rates increase by 4.77%
✅ Establishment fees increase by 4.77%
✅ Psychology and Specialist Behaviour Support rates increase by 8.58%
➖ Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Physiotherapy rates remain unchanged
➖ Support Coordination rates remain unchanged
⬇️ Dietitian and Exercise Physiology rates have decreased
📄 The pricing document has also been renamed from PAPL to the NDIS Pricing Schedule.

The updated price guide may include:

✔️ Changes to travel & non-face-to-face charges

Your funding might go further (or not as far) depending on your support needs and how services are priced. It’s important to check how your providers apply these changes.

🧾 Changes to NDIS Bills & Funding Rules
The government is working toward making the NDIS more sustainable and transparent, which means:
🔹 More clarity on what is “reasonable and necessary”
🔹 Stronger checks on spending
🔹 Possible limits on certain types of supports
👉 In plain language:
