We are incredibly proud to share that our Head Trainer, Aaron Nauta, has been named the winner of the Rising Star Award in the 2026 Workplace Health & Safety. 🌟

This recognition is so well deserved.

Aaron has always believed that safety training should be more than just compliance… it should build confidence, create calm in chaos, and empower everyday people to step up when it matters most.

Through thousands of students trained, community initiatives, workplace programs, charity work, and real conversations around safety, health, and wellbeing, Aaron continues to lead with passion, heart, and a genuine desire to make communities safer and stronger.

What makes this achievement even more special is that the impact reaches far beyond the classroom. From workplaces and schools to community groups and charities, Aaron’s mission has always been about helping people feel prepared, supported, and capable in moments that matter.

We’re incredibly grateful to have such passionate leadership guiding the AB First Aid team and helping shape the future of safety education.

Congratulations Aaron — this recognition is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. 👏

🚨 Australia’s asthma guidelines have changed.

For many adults and teens aged 12+, health experts are now recommending Anti-Inflammatory Reliever (AIR) therapy instead of relying only on a blue reliever puffer like Ventolin.
Why?

Because even “mild” asthma can become serious unexpectedly, and blue puffers alone do not treat the underlying inflammation in the lungs.

Important reminders:
✔ Emergency asthma first aid has NOT changed
✔ Blue puffers still play a critical role in asthma emergencies
✔ AIR therapy is currently recommended for many people aged 12+
✔ Asthma treatment should always be discussed with a GP or healthcare professional

This is especially important for:
• Schools
• Sporting clubs and coaches
• Workplace first aiders
• Disability and aged care workers
• Parents and carers

With thunderstorm asthma season and summer approaching in the spring across Victoria, now is a good time to review asthma plans and make sure your team or family is up to date.

We’ve just received our neffy training devices and this is a big moment for anaphylaxis training in Australia.

For the first time, we’re able to train with a needle-free adrenaline option that’s now TGA registered and expected to become available in 2026.

This means one thing for schools, childcare, disability and aged care teams:

Your staff may soon be responding to anaphylaxis with a completely different device than what they’ve trained with before.

At AB First Aid, we’re already integrating neffy into our training so teams can:
• Understand how it works
• Practise with real devices
• Feel confident if they ever need to use it

Because in an emergency, confidence and familiarity matter.

We’ll also be covering neffy, Jext, EpiPen comparisons and the recent Anapen changes in our upcoming webinar.

In the meantime, we’ve created a free short online course to help you get familiar with the changes:

If your team wants to stay ahead and avoid confusion when it matters most, this is a great place to start.

The devices are changing. Your training should too.

Each year, hundreds of Victorians are hospitalised due to heat-related illness.

Children under 5, adults over 65, and people working or exercising outdoors are most at risk.

Many cases occur in homes, worksites, and vehicles, not just outdoors.

The good news? Nearly all are preventable with early recognition and simple first aid.
